having just sprayed(rattle can) the bottom of a rear door after some rust
removal,I have got orange peel, how can I reduce this prior to clear coat?
I have heard you can knock it back with 1200 paper, but this will leave a matt
finish, will the clear coat bring back the shine,or have I got to compound it with say G3?. All advise welcome cheers.

If you have a DA polisher, AG Bodyshop 02B is 2000 grit equivalent, 03B is 1200 grit, and 3M do a paint corrector that is 3000 grit equivalent. Have a spray bottle of water handy - I find the AG stuff drys very quickly and you need to keep adding water spray while working it. I would think this would be better than trying to work with wet and dry emery paper.
