Did this for years to my focus and my bora. Didnt do any harm. Cant bring myself to do it to the merc. I use ultimate diesel which allegedly should provide the lube benefits missing from regular diesel.

If your Benz or any diesel car for that matter is equipped with a DPF, you are on the road to no re-gen. The ash content being fired off will eventually plug up the DPF filter prematurely. Plus some of that 2T oil has a high lead content it it that will poison the cat if fitted.

Who the heck trusts anything that Rover 75 owners do ?
I changed from a rover 75 to a Mercedes and have never looked back.

Hi,
bit of an update as only just getting to my next fill up
fuel economy was 38.7 and now showing as 40.1 similar trips being done.
no notice to noise levels, can hardly hear the engine in the car anyway.
power seems the same
So I will continue to use it just in case it does help to lubricate and see what happens down the line

I've been using Hyrdra Fuels additives for a year or two now. Both my van and Phaeton have been running on the Cetane booster and injector cleaner. It works out a bit cheaper than buying V-Power diesel all the time.
