hi
i have a 1999 V plate 1.7 diesel A170 cdi
3 weeks ago i started getting problems with the running of the engine,
after i stopped sometimes the car would not start for around 30mins, first off i thought it was CPS but after looking around noticed that the fuel coming out the fuel filter next to the engine head was full of air bubbles, not just a few but a lot more air then diesel
so i changed the fuel filter and it was still happening, then about 3 days after i changed the filter it stopped and for the last five days when i get to the end of my journey i all ways just check to see if the air is back, there is the odd air bubble still there but one small bubble every 5secs,
anyone come across this problem before or have any idea what could be causing it, i did run out of diesel a few days before this happened
i also noticed that when i had the problem of all the air getting into the fuel system, when i removed the fuel tank cap there was no vacuum like i normally, now it seems to be getting just a slight amount of air in the system the vacuum is back
anyway any help would be great thanks lads
