Wet Carpet Syndrome.

I usually Park my car ( W202 C280 Estate ) on the flat or on a slope with front facing down.
Recently been parking with front up the slope, When it rains Drivers rear frontwell is full of water.
I have done the usual checks and have realised it is coming from the front and running under the seat etc.

I cannot seems to find where it is coming from, apart from drivers footwell.

Are there any common places that this car leaks from or has anyone had the same problems.

Many thanks in advance

Alreadly checked that,

The drainage channels blocked last March and flooded Passenger Footwell.

Channels are clear, so is large drain hole inner wing under fuse block.
Windscreen seals look ok but seem bonded anyway.

Could be the air-con drainage is being deposited under the carpet instead of
through the floorpan.
Remove one of the footwell heater outlets and see if the rubber hoses have
come off. On my wife's car they were actually MISSING.
Here is a pic Missing drainage hose.

@PJH spot on mate

The drivers side tube had come off and the water was flooding under the carpet instead of draining through the transmisson tunnel.

Many thanks.

Glad that's sorted. Our mechanic had seen these hoses come off before, but on Wifey's car they were missing. Must have been a factory tea-break.
It took over a week for the underside of the carpet to dry out.

Hi! I have te same situation with you guys, but the thing is I can't seem to find the hose for the drain. Where is it exactly?

If you are referring to the AC drain pipes, you have to unscrew the little vent type trim in the passenger/driver foot well and you can get access to the drain pipes from there or at least see if they are there/attached.

I have taken out the trims, carpet (to dry), and the grill like trim under the glove box and I'm trying to look for a hose for the drain pipe. I can't seem to find it anywhere. All I see are wires and vacuum tubes. I mainly focused looking at the right side of the footwell where I removed the plastic trim, it's not there. I left it like that on my way to work and I've seen water dripping to the footwell panel where it covers the blower. Any diagram you can share or DIY??

Also, something went wrong with my climate control during the time this happened. My blower suddenly turned on out of nowhere and when I', turning it off it wouldn't turn off by pressing the "0" button. And when I turn off my engine, the blower will stay on for like 3-5 seconds before it turns off. Any culprit for this problem? Blower regulator or the HVAC control?

This thread helped my by removing some debris outside the airbox thingy near the ECU's.

Thanks!

i have water in the carpet on the rear driver side. i took car to car wash today & they pointed out the seals are wet on the inside of the driver door. there's also water coming out bootom of the doorcards. so would you say somethings blocking the drains at the bottom of the door?

that'll be one problem solved :thumb:
