Congratulation Uchiha on buying my old car. Sorry I am a bit late posting here but I just got back from a 650km Sponsored Cycle, so I am not only Knackered but I have been away from my desk for a week.
If there is anything you need to ask, please feel free to do so and I will try to answer as best as I can remember, When I sold the car to Neil Dickens of the Hairpin Car Company in Sept 05, it was in Outstanding condition and only wanted for a few things to make it Trouble free, I fitted new Discs and pads all round at about 180000kms if my memory serves me right and I kept it regularly serviced, even though I didnt do many miles in it, I was just so pleased to own what I think is the best built Mercedes ever!
Some recent pictures would be nice and as I said, if there is anything you want to know, please feel free to ask, oh, I have an old Log book for that car, if you want it, please let me know and I will post it to you,

Thank you Terry for the offer. I'm really happy with the car and just planning the work I need to do on it to get it into ship shape. To this end I have a lot of questions I'd like to ask you that will save me some money in preventative maintenance that might not be necessary i.e. wiring harness, suspension etc. Looks like the owner after you fitted the evo alloys.

The antenna should go up when the radio is switched on but if the car has been sitting for some time without use it could have got stuck. A genuine Hirschman one can be bought from the dealers for around £20. I believe for the W124 it should be the same as the W202 H11 on the Tip.
Thanks - it's definitely jammed then. Hopefully I'm going to get the car looked at by Ian Walker this weekend and I'm sure he'll be able to sort it. Hopefully he knows a way to get an iPod to work with the Becker Mexico system as well!

I have a Facelift E55 AMG as a sort of Cushion to soften the blow, but the two cars are leagues apart, their isnt anything else built like a W124 especially an E500E, oh btw, the Aerial was fitted new (Hirschmann) in 2005, I know because I fitted it, so the problem could stem from the wiring?

Has anybody got or seen my old silver 500E....Reg L10 ACE.....I recall somebody mentioning that they had seen it about some time ago down in Southeast London area.

Yes, see it nearly everyday. It's tucked underneath a cover at the moment, have not seen it move for a while.

....I've got brain fade....I was convinced it was L10 ACE.....but as has been rightly pointed out it was L55 ACE.....had to go onto my old computer to check the Reg
I had another W124 which started L10***Unfortunately due to my old lap top being Kaput I can't get any of my old photos off it, otherwise I could have sent some photos of my old 500E....had a great one of it covered in snow and making its way down a very snowy mountain road in France.
What a nightmare that was....trying to fit snow chains to a 500E...hardly any clearance between the tyre and the wheel arch....had to jack the car up just to get the chains on.
Re the window tints.....the car had those on when I sold it
Hmm, that looks very much like a 500e that i was offered about 2-3 months ago..

I know the last owner traded it in for a C class and then regretted it but couldnt reverse the deal!

It looks very nice, silver with dark black tints.
I've seen it a few times on the road, and in the Bexley/Welling area.
