I mean the total black look you've got. I reckon it has ruined one of the nicest looking Mercs ever.

Calm down big man.Has it been done?
No, you just got very personal about my car for no reason, you made yourself look stupid and immature.
My posts were about my experiences with lexus and mercedes, you stooped way below an acceptable level of nastiness and even went trawling my posts to find something that could maybe back up your pathetic nastiness, which it didn't.
what you have done is totally unnecessary, pointless, childish and totally off topic. Why you decided to pick on me and my car is lost on me.
I won't stoop to your childish levels and say what I think of you or your car. I'll be looking for that block button wherever it is so I never have to waste my eyesight on your pointless drivel.
You're now gone
In the UK Lexus are selling more vehicles than they have been.
To be fair, Lexus have always been aimed more at the US market, where their sales are phenomenal.
An urban myth apparentlyThe clue is in the name.

I like the Lexus range. They're doing something different which probably explains why their sales are very high.
I owned a Mercedes, traded it in last week for a Lexus IS 300H. Frankly, I had too much trouble with the Merc and I think most of the MerC range is pants. You may as well photocopy the same front and rear to different cars like the GLE coupe (the definition of ugly), S Class coupe and the new C class coupe. Then you have the C Class and S Class with the same design just different sizes.
The Lexus range appears very modern and distinctive, something which the Mercedes brand lacks, it still looks too conservative and boring. Not to mention, the new C class is as refined as a tractor with the engine hardly changed in terms of NVH since 2004.
Lexus appears to have got their packaging right, decent prices with lots of kit, reliability to boot and excellent customer service which Mercedes can't match. I only ever bought German cars but they've just turned sour. Take a look at the GLE coupe and it makes you almost throw up in your mouth. Frankly, every Lexus feels more special than a photocopying machine
When you consider that Merc is almost a century old and Lexus is only 25 years or so old, it's slightly worrying that Lexus is a competitor. The only reason Merc gets great reviews is down to badge snobs and German car bias. It's not actually better than Audi BMW or Lexus, they just different in different ways
Reminds me of an argument between a Man United fan and a Liverpool Fan.
Your team sucks. No, your team sucks. No, your team sucks. No, your teams sucks. (Ad infinitum).
Mercedes owners are no different to BM owners, Audi owners, Ford owners, Vauxhall owners, or any other group of people who prefer a specific make over other makes.
Why is it that the elderly gent living down the road has only ever driven Fords all his life, and will leave this world only ever having driven Fords?
Why do I prefer white and silver cars over red, blue and black cars?
Why do I prefer Scotch to Vodka?
It's all down to personal choice. I drive a Mercedes because I like the marque, from the external styling to the internal leather and wood. That doesn't mean I will always drive a Merc. If I had the money, I'd drive a Bentley or a Rolls, but I don't.
Some people are happy to drive in whatever they can afford. Some people don't even care what they drive, as long as it gets them from A to B.
Some people aspire to something better. Whether it is a better Ford or Vauxhall than their current model, or a complete change of brand to a more luxurious seaming car, such as an Audi, BMW or Mercedes (or Lexus, Infinite or a luxury Japanese brand such as Honda).
It's a bit like employment. Some people are happy just pushing a brush around all day, while others seek promotion.
It is not the car, brand, marque or whatever that drives us, but our own personal standards.
Who cares if the Lexus is more reliable than the Merc, or the Merc more desirable than the Lexus. It is not what other people think of us, but what we think of ourselves, and the feelings that we get from our own personal choice.
I drive a CLS. It is the facelift C218. On this forum, there are two groups of people, of which one prefer the predecessor C219 over the C218. Who is to say which group is right, and which is wrong. I prefer the C218 and it's masculine lines while others prefer the purity of the original.
The simple fact is that if you take 100 people, their opinions will all differ. No two people will be 100% compatible. Even married coupled wholely in love with each other will have differences of opinion. Savoury or sweat?
The fact is that this forum is specifically for those who have a love for the Mercedes Benz marque, even with the foibles that follow this marque. Even within the marque, there are vehicles that I love, and those that I hate.
Personal choice.
As for sales figures, these mean nothing. The most popular car being sold in Britain is the Ford Fiesta. This has nothing to do with the desirability of the car, but more to do with the affordability of the car. If you asked all those Ford Fiesta buyers whether, if they could afford it, they would buy another make and model, their answers would probably be 'yes'. Only a small percentage would buy a Fiesta because that is the car they aspire to.
