Another ugly Lexus

Can I come back in and start again John ?

I just realised . We have 10 houses on our street. Between us all we have 7 Mercs. NOBODY has a Lexus.

More than any difference of opinion, any petty insult, anything that's worthy of getting out the popcorn, I love love love comments like this - hero to zero, crash and burn in a couple of sentences :D:D:D.

Stick around Rayaans - the forum needs people like you :thumb:.

And...he works for the NHS, selling cars apparently.:dk:

I live on a road, so can't count the houses...but my brothers both live on a street with 6 houses...no Lexus, but 4 MB, 1 Rav4, 1 Ferrari Calif, 1 Range Rover, 1 AM V12 (without key marks), 3 Audi and 2 BMWs.

The real money doesn't buy Lexus.

Not necessarily your road, but the proximity of a dealership could have something to do with it as well. We stayed in a farmhouse earlier in the year, about a mile from a village, which surprisingly had a Skoda dealer. It seemed every other house had a Skoda outside it...........

I have a Lexus, out of choice, even though the nearest dealership is in Milton Keynes, about 25 miles away, whereas the closest MB dealership is 5 miles away. No surprise I see more Mercedes than Lexus cars in my town.

I loved the C220, but the Lexus is just so different, actually it does feel more solid, as if the C220 was more of any entry level model, aimed at the 3 Series market.

TBH, I tend to choose vehicles that are a bit out of the ordinary, a yellow Saab vert, for instance, and of course my JZR, so this may have had a bearing on moving away from the now very commonly seen MB.

Ha, ha. I didn't think this thread could get any worse. I was wrong.

When I visit Swindon, almost every other car appears to be a Honda Civic. I was flabbergasted by how many Civics can be crammed in to one area. Obviously Honda have a big influence over the buying choices of Swindonians.

Where I live, in the country, my Merc looks cheap against all those expensive Range Rovers the farmers all drive, and they say that there is no money in farming? Yeah, right.

Where I used to live, on the South Coast, we had a Lexus dealer just up the road from us, and the only place I have ever seen a Lexus is in that dealership. In fact, in the five years I have lived in the Fens, I think I have only seen a handful of Lexuses (is that the correct plural spelling?).

I'm not knocking Lexus. I've actually taken two separate test drives in an IS and an GS, and while the kit included was exceptional, just didn't give me the WOW factor I was looking for. Mind you, the Vauxhall VXR8 (known as a Holden in Oz) didn't do it for me either, where as the Astra VXR did.

Horses for courses.

I work for the NHS, I also am a partner in multiple business assets. Who said anything about selling cars - if you read the post properly you'd see "have 100+ cars on a forecourt, I didn't say "I" personally sell them.

Can't stay away can you? :D

Make up your mind...is it 10 or 20 years you've been here?

Back on topic, the car in post one is indeed ugly.

I get Lexus, and indeed am considering one for my next car.

However, that first one is indeed a shocker in the looks department.

20! Typo, hence reason for edit

Im sure it looks much better in person. Besides, the GLE coupe is a fat banana and the CLA is a little banana on wheels. In general, the GLE coupe is more horrific

I'd say the CLA is the dodgier of the two if looking from the rear.

But both are just a bad hair day compared with the visual disaster that Lexus have 'styled'.

Be glad you don't live on the Outer Hebrides - they all have to drive Vauxhalls!

Stornoway.

Atleast it's actually been styled rather than having front and rear slapped on from different cars in the range. Looks pretty edgy IMO. Actually I'm going to buy it, probably in white so the grill stands out and hopefully it'll help shut my kids up on the way to school if I use it as a threat
