Any B class owners please? what do you think of them

Hello

If we had anything to take out I would give it you as its going to the dealers.

We added nothing to the standard spec so nothing to remove :)

Yes they can be good fun, Wifes is a manual and in the wet 1st and 2nd are pretty useless :)

Its not 'quick' in real terms, think hers is around 8 seconds to 60 but feels quicker and a good laugh when up against sportier cars :)

The next one will be a fair bit slower........until a remap :)

Lovely A210, I'm sure you'll enjoy the B-class, but I think if the A140 was sold I'd miss it. I enjoy driving it, as it's surprisingly good fun for a 1.4 and is very practical too.

^ we have had the A class 4 years 4 months, longest car we have owned. Cheapest car we have owned, best mpg, Lost VERY little over the time.

Will be sad but someone else will enjoy it I hope.

Over our time with the car I only ever spotted 2 others.

Thanks all,

Will update soon, the little A class will soon leave us :(

Its been a fun car no mater what people say, I suspect very few have actually driven a A210 :)

Would be interested in your 'real life' view of the B Class, if you get one - especially ride quality compared to the A Class. I too am considering move from A to B,partly to get more a big-car feel and smoother ride.

^ Hello

My wifes current A class is the LWB version to load of room in the back. Its also the A210 Evo which means it has stiff suspension and 17" alloys with low profile tyres....

The B class inside looks a lot more grown up, boot looks deeper / larger and altogether a bit bigger. I'm guessing it should ride a little better even though the one we are getting has the sport wheels etc.

Full report if and when we do the 'deal'

:)

Hi There!
We have the B200T CVT Auto (pre facelift obviously).
The facelift was subtle- main benefit (imo) was the stereo, the standard fixed roof & the option of park assist. New engines gave better emissions/economy.

Link to my original review in signature, which I believe you viewed when written. I stand by all comments at the time- we are still very happy with it. We would not choose any other MPV type car. If MB did not have the B, then we would probably have got a VW Touran or failing that, an estate.

I would like to upgrade to NTG 2.5 (from audio 20) but this will involve a bit of dosh/time; this is the only thing which is a little lacking.
Recommended options; sport for looks(+/- suspension), parktronic, thermotronic & comfort seats, folding mirrors(a cheap option relatively, but expensive to retrofit!) & Brabus door pins(get them from ebay-not from a dealer!) of course.

We are still more than happy with the ride. Economy is between av 30-35mpg always driven briskly. Have had upto 40-45mpg on long motorway leisurely cruise.
Recently had rusty wheel bolts & peeling b pillar trim replaced under warranty.

I disagree about the length of the nose in A140driver's post- if anything we overestimate the nose size- it is very short relatively as the engine is all underneath as in your A class. The rear end is harder to judge with somewhat restricted view.

If your wife is used to A210, she may find a small engined B a bit of a shock, even if she does drive leisurely. She may have to drive it 'harder' to get the same results as the 'leisurely' pace in the A210....

I have loaded out late 2009 B180 SE and so far I like it, it's roomy and comfortable. I haven’t had long enough to figure out the MPG but it seems OK.
Overall I would recommend it.

Smatt

After the A210 she had I so nearly bought a B200 Turbo...

Spec was great, low miles etc, but it really is over kill for how she drives. She can get 44mpg out of her A210 so you get the idea...

Yours is a smart looking B, I like the wheels but again fear that they are too big for my wife...and kerbs... Her current A class wheels are shall we say a little worn :)

If all goes well this weekend then we may have a new motor on the drive ;) will post soon.

I was not meaning she needed a Turbo, merely that she may require something a little larger than the B150.... :)
Good luck haggling!
PS check the tool kit/jack is there!
