I have just bought a bulk pack of the stp gold mat.
There is a guy in Manchester who sells it.

I intend to do the floor panels and bonnet (under oem blanket) of my w220 s320cdi.
I'm not sure if it will make much difference as it is has a lot of sound proofing as standard. I was surprised to see the floor only has bitumen deadening on the transmission tunnel.
I also plan to put a sheet of quietlife foam insulation on the bulkhead behind the engine.
