As you suggest, almost certainly auto lights10 UK...
....on an E Class this morning....obviously it won't be a member on here...because nobody on here would be stupid enough to drive in fog that thick with no lights on at all!
Rant mode on.
He was far from alone Im afraid.....Whats up with these people? Loads had no lights on at all....some had parking lights only (clues in the name what they should be used for!). some where relying on just their DRLs.....possibly not realising that on 99% of cars that only lights the front of the car so they are invisible from behind when you come up on them. Im sure some rely on them coming on as they leave their lights on auto.....but the whiteness of the fog means that often the lights don't come on in these conditions....my wife had to override the auto lights so they came on in her A Class. Donuts the lot of them!!!
Rant mode off!
Auto lights have never been a favourite of mine; they never seem to come on early enough for my liking. At least some cars have "Scandi" DRLs where at least part of the rear lighting elements are illuminated with the front DRLs ( Volvo of course, but also Mrs S's Leon). My Beemer doesn't and my chosen default lighting mode tends to be sidelights at all times.10 UK...
