Saw an intersting one yesterday, 001 001, I guess it's actually OO 1001, was on a W220 S Class in Camberley.

I just saw this on the Strand in London, now on a completely debadged W221 (2007 S320 CDI, from a number plate check). Still with dodgy fonts and spacing to read "001 001".

Why do people do this

A doctored numberplate in non standard font cheapens any car ...

You could have a Veyron plotted up outside , but if it had an italic numberplate or something , it would look cheap ....

Why do people do this

In central London, probably to avoid paying the congestion charge! I doubt the cameras would figure that plate out ...

This may have come up before as I never usually read this thread, but I actually saw a black Veyron today in Hemel Hempstead. It had a plate which was:

YE5 1 CAN

Tried to take a pic but by the time my camera phone had sorted itself out, it had gone into the roundabout we were queued at...

No it was fine, my passenger was holding the wheel whilst I was focussing the camera and tuning the radio. We only clipped a clumsy pedestrian but luckily the CE wasn't scratched..
