Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

I was so mesmerised by the plate, LU51FER, I didn't check out the badging on the car, but I think it was a Ferrari.

FERRARI 599 F1 GTB, apparently.

Nice double meaning, a red devil (I assume it was Resale Red) and a FER plate.

HMS I on a Range Rover today, err... you guessed it, in St. John's Wood!

I'm sure I spotted P1ERE the other day. Can't remember what car it was on though, maybe a Rangie or an Audi 4x4

2CV, *****ly?

"surely"

Ok, so "sure" spelled with an "h" in is a banned word round these parts.... I assume it's Serbian for a woman's ladyparts or something...

It actually looked quite menacing in black!

I wont state the obvious CL10 NOB

Saw one that's been sighted here before. 1 CE on a black Bentley Flying Spur on the M40 this morning.

How do you find out what history a plate has - sales wise? And how to value a plate you currently own?

If it was sold at a DVLA auction, the sale prices (and dates) are available on their website. Otherwise it's just down to knowing from personal experience or, in some cases, press reports. A web search can occasionally turn up some information.

You can ask a number plate dealer for a valuation, but they will either quote you what they're prepared to pay for it, or how much they think you should advertise it for with them. These two figures are unlikely to be close.

You could also check what similar plates are being advertised for, and knock off anything between 25% and 50% to allow for the fact that many are hideously over-valued. Ultimately, as with everything, a plate worth what you can persuade someone to pay for it.

...bust?

RAF 1 on a Roller, RU 8 on something else and FA57 CAR on a teflon coated Range Rover. I think he also owns FA51 CAR, as I've seen them parked together.

Not sure about the wrap...

Hideous.

I followed a matt black wrapped X plate BMW 330ci the other day , and it just looked like it needed a good wash.

A1 EVO on a Lancia integrale

Spotted on the M40 yesterday - Mercedes GL with V80 BBY, spaced V 80BBY. And a BMW X5 with K8 MOM.
