Actually he was mixed race, and when he got pulled by the police he used to say it it because i'm black, until one day a black copper pulled him, then it was is it because i'm white.

Ha Ha, I remember when coloured was used more often than mixed race or black and it was not used in a derogatory way. I even remember the term half caste before mixed race was used.

This is true, and I still do not understand why "coloured" is derogatory, but apparently it is as I am told by my very PC daughter in law (quite literally as she is a lawyer ), but when somebody is called "black" it must be just me that still feels that description is derogatory......I am too old to keep up obviously!
