Auxiliary 3.5mm socket

The one in the glove box.......
I connected a jack into it with a USB connector on the other end. I attached a USB stick with music on it but when l selected the aux setting on the disc function of my Audio 20 it didn't play the music. Any ideas where I'm going wrong??

The aux input will look for a player (iPod. MP3 etc) try plugging in something like that.

Now that`s strange because I plugged my Canon 600 which has pictures and sound files and it saw them.

What car are we talking about here?

The 3.5mm audio in socket is, as the name suggests, for analogue audio. I'm not even sure where you'd get a 3.5mm to USB cable or what you'd expect it to do. You need an audio player with a headphone or line out socket, and connect that to the socket.

Treat the car like a massive set of headphones... that is what the socket is for.

Yup. Make sure the volume is turned up on the player, too.
