bad start up and blue smoke. E320 CDI

I had a similar issue with a citroen berlingo once dw8 engine, these are coman for injector problems, they start up on three then a quick throttle clears the smoke and rough start and they'd be fine all day, until the next cold start.

Im not saying thats the fault just sharing a experiance ive had,

Went to specialist today and he fitted a brand new Bosch Battery, its huge. He thinks that the blue smoke is to do with the extended turning over. Battery has been drop tested and was not great. Thets put it this way, the battery was 7 years old. So due to go I think, STAR didn't find any faults whatsoever. fingers crossed I will know properly tomorrow on a cold start.

You say above that your indy thinks the blue smoke is to do with the extended cranking. Does the car still need extended turning over before starting or has this starting issue been solved?

What mileage has the car done?

Cranking time is poor again, car has done 85k.
