Just ordered a new C Class Coupe C220 Executive SE. I was think of getting factory installed Sat Nav until I realised that the car comes pre wired and you can buy units brand new off eBay for half the cost of getting one from the dealer.

Anyhow, with little experience of the Becker navigation system,I was wondering if there was any reason for not buying one from eBay.fr (France) I speak French so no problem there, and they seem to go for as little as £150.... Is there a catch?

Thanks for any responses.

I am not sure you can get as cheap as 150 but should be able to get one under £250, buying from ebay overseas sellers could be risky unless you find a good seller there does seem to be a few them.

I opted to buy from Amazon @ £300 delivered.

Mainly due to positive reports about the seller and the obvious Amazon guarantee if it went pear-shaped.

Yeah, watched one and it went for £153 including postage after rate conversion. But I so take your point. They had 100% feedback too.

Wise to do this probably, as you say Amazon are very good to deal with.

This has been covered to death in the new W204 thread. Lots of people purchased the German model for around £150-£200. Identical, just need to switch the default language when it arrives and away you go

Thanks to everyone. If you put all the responses together they seem to answer my question.
