Benjy's New Baby!

I dunno, at around 30-40mph full throttle kicks the rear out pretty violently and I have 5mm on the tyres (it is moist weather though). The ESP light goes mad and keeps it all in line.

I also feel a kind of slipping/juddering (like wheel spin) on the inside rear wheel pulling out of junctions in this damp weather. Is this typical even with the LSD? The ESP light does not flash.

Hey Simon!

What I meant was, regardless of the weather, traction can easily be overwhelmed.

Hope you are well.. and I hope to be able to meet with you next week.

Hi benjy I was wondering I think you have ils system do these come with daylight LEDs and when you got the car did you get a datacard and full spec with options invoice

Hi Pagzzy, I know you asked Benjy but hey.... ILS on the C63 does not include any kind of LED daytime lights. That will be the facelift model. Bit of a bummer as the 'regular' models get the nice looking LED daytime lights when you choose the ILS option all for the same price!

Bummer for sure it seems to be an option on ils for c63s now looking at the mb website

Arrrrrrr...its you Ben, yeah he told me all about a guy that was driving his all the way from Luxembourg after picking theres up and driving over to work on their C63....Honestly mate this guy is a magician. What he does to your car and the way he makes a new car look even newer is incredible. You will not be dissapointed.

Based on the work he did for you Benjy I'm considering getting a detail from Rob when I finally get my rust sorted

Trust me mate it still looks the bizz even without the LEDS, I kinda like the round spots and the headlights as they are.....You wont care about LEDs once you have driven it, trust me!

The good thing is Bobby is that if you get Rob to seal the whole car after the rust is sorted, it protects it from future rust, salt and rubbish off the roads. It was the main reason I had mine done from the outset. If you are going to go to the Bluewater meet a week Saturday that Simon has arranged he will be there to talk to about it if you wish.:thumb:

Yes I have in which I love the double blips on the down shift :D

You get blips on the shifts in all modes. I am not talking about S mode on the transmission settings, I am talking about Sport Mode in the Electronic Stability Management system.

If you press the ESP triangle in the centre of the dash once it puts the ESP system into Sport Mode. You have to push it and hold it for 10 seconds to turn ESP off.

ESP in Sport Mode is fantastic if you like the rear to slide a bit more than standard.

I'm driving all the way over from Luxembourg at the start of April for Rob to work on my new C63. Basically because of your recommendation:thumb:

No pressure then.:D

Thanks for the kind words Henry, you know it's appreciated mate and see you Saturday.

Looking forward to meeting you Ben, not too much longer to wait now.:thumb:

Yep I ended up giving that a go Sunday and nearly sh*te myself....Will take a bit of getting use to:D.

I took a friend out on Sunday night and had a bit of a bash round Morrisons car park and thought afterwards, I carry on like this and I will be changing tyres very soon! LOL

LOL!

I drove a C63 around Brooklands, including the skid pan..

It's amazing how quickly the rear end snaps round if you over-cook it!

Use the force, Benjy.... I want to see that beast in one piece when I look over her!

:D

Ha ha ha ha....mate I am more worries that I wont get the Rashman seal of approval on Saturday than anything else at the moment mate. She seems to be holding out under my cover so a little bit of work to do Saturday before showing her off to you but then I would like the marks out of ten. Need to do under the bonnet...gotta make sure of that I always forget. LOL

Yes me and Nige have a brooklands day booked for a week Saturday which I am soooooo looking forward to. If anything just to be able to learn the right way of being able to handle these beasts. What did you think of the day as a whole Rash, was it worth the money?

LOL!!

I'm sure your guy Rob did a cracking job, so you shouldn't have much to do to get her looking tip-top!
And yes, don't forget the engine bay! ;)

Once you get every part of the car detailed, keeping the car looking its best is alot easier. It's just a matter of going over everything as often as you can.

I just hope the weather is good enough for saturday. :(

Brooklands:
Man, it is great fun!

The only downside is that you will find the time goes very very quickly when you are out on the track etc.

But make sure you don't think about all that.. just go out there and have yourself some fun!!

One of the things I liked was being able to push the new AMG brakes to their limits - in someone elses car! lol!

I seriously pushed that C63 hard when I was on the track..

They put the car in "S" for people who are not familiar with the car and paddles.

Fortunately, I had a guy my age as the "instructor".
I told him that I had a 63 and I asked if I could use "M".

He had no problem with this and let me get on with it. :bannana:

Back end sliding out on the exits of bends, rinsing the gears and timing upshifts and downshifts... Awesome!!

My friend who was watching said that the other people watching around him thought I was an instructor!
LOL!

I dunno if I looked that good but I had such good time out there.

Ha ha ha ha.....Ben I don't mean to be the barer of bad news but it DRAGSSSSSSS and DRAGSSSSSS..... OMG I have never experienced such a wait for something in all my life and being that I am a very patient person, Are'nt I Rash LOL :D....(I am terrible mate want everything yesterday no patience at all)

It will come round quick mate and I no you are going to be ecstatic with your new baby, I just can't tell you how good these cars are. I am very excited for you cause I no how excited I was on the day and how it made me feel to first drive that beast out of the dealers car park and down the road. I no I have said this in many previous posts but that smile and the whoop I gave in the car that day I will never forget.

Wicked, nasty, dangerous, exciting, adrenaline pumping, mental car! AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.:D:D:D:D:D

Hey doubt I'll make tonight I've done 150 miles so I wanna put my foot down but this is as bad as waiting for the car or worse the run in procedure is 1000 miles

Thats a real shame mate, would have been good to see you. To be honest don't just stick to the 1000 mile guide it doesn't hurt to put your foot down on the running in process as it stops the pistons from glazing. Just don't give large burst's for long periods of time. You won't hurt the car.

Ah well maybe next time bud. Have a good weekend.
