Best oil extractor?

I'm not convinced of the quality are they any good? or is a Sealey or Draper a better option.
When you look at the ad, it shows a british flag, says item location Leicester

unbranded item, description with "c" and "s" backwards and business seller in China.

Good point, adding my personal boycott list of all chinesium stuff... crap or not...

Its a good idea to remove the strangle hold that the Chinese have on the World..it was more than proved during the Covid-19 crisis when the world basically shut down for awhile. And this was largely due to over dependence on China. But even so, prime branded or not, its not going to be easy getting rid of the "Dragon"

Can someone recommend a good and reasonably priced oil extractor please?

I know people recommend the Lidl electric ones but I’ve never seen them for sale here (then again I don’t regularly visit) and a bit hesitant about connecting it to the cars battery.
Pela 6000 is my tool of choice. Carried out around 15 oil changes with it; still going strong.

I maybe slightly obsessed, but like draining from the sump plug, always into a clean drain bucket then you can see the condition of the oil, and if there is any debris, also you will get more oil out, I run a magnet through it check for any metal shavings, then I just pour it in to my waste container ready to take to the recycling centre.
For me I suppose it's the difference between an adequate job or a good job.

I agree, but sometimes it's a PITA to jack the car up and take the sump plug out. - I do worry that an extractor won't suck up any sludge and debris from the sump, but if the filter looks pretty good when it comes out I feel reassured.

As for which is the best, I don't know. - Cheap Chinese certainly fits the "adequate" description.

If the sump plug is not in the base of the sump then a pump sucks out more oil . As for checking old oil for bits , maybe on a petrol , no way on a diesel , new oil is as black as the old oil after 10 minutes lol 😆

I simply filter it into the container, much easier. As pointed out the Oil is quickly black as coal.

Most garages now only do an "adequate" job. ;)

Amazing that people clammer after a FMBSH when they only do an adequate job rather than a good job of an oil change by sucking the oil out from above,

Well I used to be a drain plug man bit I've now done it both ways and I am satisfied that suction methods get as much oil out as the drain plug method. There is always some old oil left unless you strip the engine down and empty all the oil galleries, but it's of no consequence which ever method is used. To do a good job of an oil change and use it as a diagnostic of engine condition it's no use looking for shavings in the oil as they won't be any. They will be in the filter which should be cut open and the media stretched out to drain overnight and inspected for debris. I've done it. Better still send a sample of oil off for analysis which will identify wear particles and where they came from.

If anyone is interested, the Lidl one is back on sale next Thursday for £9.99. They have some other goodies too including a CTEK

Thanks, I already have the oil pump and a charger but I see they have car covers. Does anyone have one?
I'm not interested in it being weatherproof as it will only be used to keep the dust off the car while it's parked in the garage. Any comments on size would be appreciated. The large size listed as 480 cm should fit with room to spare but sometimes these things are a tight fit.

Funnily enough Lidl has the electric one for sale from Thursday 24th Sept limited stock. I'm going for their impact wrench

Just change the oil and renewed the filter this afternoon as the last of this good weather made it the perfect day for me. I have the Pela, same as W1ghty and been using it over the years on our cars.
