Best product for cleaning caked on dirt on alloy wheels?

Wolf's brake duster (now called de ironizer) is very good. Does what iron x does only cheaper

A combination of bilberry, iron x, tardis shampoo, clay bar lime prime on a polishing pad on the d.a., finished in your choice of wheel wax will make them perfect.

Wow, a new wheel would be cheaper than buying that lot!

Iron X is what you need, really impressive, expensive but does the job, not tried wolfs brake duster but have heard that its not really up to the task....

Wolfs is very good too. It takes longer to work but it doesn't matter if it dries out so you can leave it while you clean the rest of the car. It has degreasers in it as well so it will clean and not just get rid of brake dust.

If Wolfs doesn't clean the wheels Iron X won't either.....you're in wheels off territory and clay :)

totally with you with cost....just done 2 Audi Avants...both wheels off details and cost me around £20 just for the Iron X....heard varying reports on the Wolf's stuff but may try it....

I also have Autosmart fallout remover but the difference is you cant see it working, I use it just before clay and works a treat....

If you have a pressure washer connect the inlet hose to the hot water supply (I use the washing machine tap), turn the temp up on the boiler and you'll have a top notch steam cleaner. Works a treat
