Best way to secure items in car boot from moving about

No wind up I was just asking if anybody good answer to this and was no expecting a lot of the answers. The car net suggested by whitememisis is the best solution.

Had you never heard of a car net?

Yes i had but just wondered if anybody had a better solution

I use a couple of the shallow cardboard fruit boxes that you see in supermarkets.

Most shopping bags, boxes etc fit inside, larger things outside but are restrained by the box(es) presence and they are easily removed/disposed of if the full boot space is needed.

Audi have neat little hooks that fold down from the top of the boot to hold bags up right... Thought that was cool in my partners A4

For small amounts of shopping I use the rear footwells (behind the front seats) - the transmission tunnel stops things moving about too much. Not recommended if you have passengers in the back though :D

I put a plastic box in the back per user type (eg shopping bags, car gear, muddy boots).

Looked up the Mercedes ones the other day for my new car and although they are very nice, £130 is a crazy high price for a plastic box

I use Gaffer Tape on the wrists, ankles and mouth. Brace the knees and elbows against the rear seat backs. Sometimes and old roll of carpet helps.

Does anybody have any good products for removing stubborn stains from the boot carpet?
On a serious note, I worry about you sometimes Bruce.

This takes us into the territory of Russian Dolls

I can't stand Russian dolls.

They're just so full of themselves.

Now I'm confused (easy to do)

But if not a wind up thread the nets as illustrated are pretty good particularly the Mercedes branded one which is quite a bit more expensive bit IMO worth the extra.
