Billy's W124 Coupe Project

This is going to turn into one of those turbocharger vs supercharger debates lol.

Supercharger - robs bhps or make bhp
Turbocharger - spool up time and takes years and £££ to make it run right
V8 - Now thats what im talking about :)

Must say mine has run lovely from the day Ian finished it. I really must take it back up to see him now its painted.

If they did a V8 in the 124 coupe I would have bought one. I know I could get a 126 but they dont float my boat as much (and I dont know why:dk:). Maybe one day I will ask someone to build me a V8 and powertrain to fit under a 124; presumably there are smaller V8's than 5 litre out there that might overcome the steering box issue and still produce more power/torque than the M119?

sorry for the thread diversion.

Mate, i don't think either of the above 3 will be much good based on your country lane driving! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

just kidding chap.

Or me. I thought I would have to go to all the way to London to see your car Niks but no that little beauty is travelling North. Hopefully see you at Ian's.

How about twin-screw supercharger commonly found on E55 kompressor cars?

Who makes those and home much are they?

IMHO you are far better off going down the E500E route and have the extra spring INSIDE the strut and not baring it's load against a part of the chassis that was never designed to take loads from a body-load spring.

It's known that W201's, the same suspension set up as the W124, have suffered from the shock towers cracking along with the inner wing due to coil overs being used without additional bracing being added.

hi guys

you can use standard shocks with these mounts

no coilovers planned

and yes...plse dont use coilovers on standard chassis and oem wheel hubs

cheers

I'm really pleased with the practicality of the car given its stance and ride height. I just drive it without the worry of rubbing or scraping, even with a boot full and passengers in the back it's brilliant infact Its a blessing!! Most slammed cars rub all over the place and usually no passengers in the back are allowed! Meaning its cab journey back home LOL!

Looks awesome but personally I'd have to lift the suspension a wee bit and fit clear indicator lenses!
