Black Speed Limit Board Cameras

They had one on the A316 near Richmond that also displayed your number plate. Made my feel kind of embarrassed when my number plate flahed up..

Dont worry there not speed cameras, there just to warn you to slow down. I got worried about them to when they started popping up round my way. I really like them i find it makes me far more conscious of my speed.

I also use the cruise when i contra flows and stuff but you have to be careful with it when on hills and stuff. I tried the limiter but it seemed to eager to knock it down a gear on hills which got annoying and a bit embarrassing in built up areas plus it means you have to keep your foot on the peddle.

P.s nice avatar tromppost, was it photoshopped? :)

Aww cool, well thats another excuse for me to visit Germany :D:D:D

There used to be a mobile speed sign on my work route ,it was located in a 100 kph zone, I enjoyed trying to see how high a speed I could get the sign to show . The highest i managed to seon it was 237 kph .

Bout 147mph then,

Just to let you know your stopping distance in optimum conditons (weather surface and brakes), is aout 450 meters, roughly a 3rd of a mile.

Try a track day.

No - that's Stuttgart railway station (the star rotates as well!).

Nice huge rotating stars in Berlin over the Europa Centre and in Moscow near the Kremlin... always makes me feel proud! :D

Interesting fact: The Moscow star weighs 6 1/2 tons, is 8 metres in diameter and was erected to mark the 100 anniversary of Mercedes-Benz! :) Also, the building it stands on was an "elite" block of flats for all the Soviet party officials and upwardly mobile people such as Generals, Admirals and musical elite!! Believe it or not, there are only 2 flats on each of the 24 section floors!!

are you offering money for track days..... shall i send you my paypal email... nice one mate....

i dont know what bike takes 450 meters to stop from 150..... lmao..

Best ones are those that show the speed you're doing. Shame they don't do 3 digit ones as I have maxxed out the two digit ones and now need to level up.

There were some more after but my mate could not be ****d taking more pics.

And this is diesel power....

I actually approve of the flashing signs, they focus the attention of speeders and are often sighted in more hazardous areas.

I tend to use the speedtronic, and if I need out of trouble, kick down works well.

Awww bless you sonny, lets try the easy sums...at 60mph you cover a mile in 60 seconds, at 120mph you cover a miles in 30 seconds.

Now still keeping the number nice and even.....your thinking distance is lets say 3 seconds, from hazzard vision to assesment to brake application. Thats a 10th of a mile.

Then lets say 7 seconds of good braking to a stop with foot down and a shoulder check:rolleyes:, not locking etc, that 10 seconds in total out of your 30 second mile at 120mph, your 3rd of a mile.

.....and this is forgetting the other stated 27 mph.

Have look at how many metres in a mile.

Massive rounding of number I know but sure you get the drift;)

Should add that the rough numbers above take no account of speed/time reduction but that just gets mind bending!! just a little easy math guide on how best to create your driving plan:D

Maths was never my strongest subject:o:D

Been discussed here I know, but not sure that a bike can match the braking performance of a car (assuming optimum conditions for both)?

You are right, a Veyron will (and has ) beat a Suzuki GSX-R1000 in 0-100-0.
