Bluewater AMG meet 14th Aug

Rash,

I can always make another weekend just let me know.

I am good thanks Rash. Happy to make another weekend if its raining. I know I will spend the Saturday afternoon before the meet cleaning my car so if it rains it will waste all my effort.

My car being black as well doesnt help

lol!

Yeah, I hear that, too.

I'm very much the same.
If it rains, my car will get caked on the way to Bluewater.
That just won't do.

We need a dry evening, really.

Keep an eye on this thread during the week to see what is decided.

What the.....?!?!

Bloody M3???

lol!

Well, I suppose you could use it for dirty jobs. Trips to the tip etc.
lol

You could even use the "M" to go to sainsburys in... leave the SLK at home. Keep it nice, innit!
lol

The meet:
Hmm, I may wait to hear what the other attendees say.. but it seems that a re-schedule may be on the cards.

The weather is also threatening to spoil things.:(

Lol, yeah an M3, got rid of the CDi.

pics there^^

The M3 seems to drink more petrol than the SLK:eek: It drinks the petrol like no tomorrow.. It likes the V-power especially:(

Yes no problem about the meet, it's good idea to re-schedule if it's raining, so no worries there, hopefully it won't rain though.

I know you hate driving your car in the rain, lol..:D

Yo.

Just seen your pics of the M3.
Very nice indeed, bud.
Admittedly, I do like the M3 - but only in your shape really.
The one before yours and your one are the best looking 3 Series.
Not too keen on the new 3 Series at all.
And you can hardly hear the V8 they put in it!:doh:

Your M3 probably drinks more fuel due to the way the engine has been mapped... and also because the straight-6 is undoubtably working alittle harder than your SLK's V8! Heehee

Even though it likes it, keep using V-Power.
It's a good, clean fuel, made by people who know what they are doing.
Don't skimp on fuel.

We may, indeed, need to re-schedule the meet. :(
I've not completely decided that yet, but the weather really isn't looking good for saturday.

I'll keep monitoring cloud movement.
By tomorrow evening, I should have a better idea of what the weather will be doing.

Keep an eye on this thread.

....and yes.... I hate the rain.
But only when the car's involved though.

lol
:thumb:

I dont have an AMG, but I might sneak along if thats OK Rashman :)

Weather is looking wet on saturday. :(

Looks like we may have to re-schedule this meet afterall.

I'm not righting it off yet though.

Tomorrows weather satelite imagery will be accurate enough to make a solid decision.

cool rashman , my motor should hopefully be ready by sat . would say i have to agree about the rain tho . lets hope the weather man is true to form and wrong as allways .

Hey bud.

Good to hear your car is coming along.

Indeed, let's hope the weather man is wrong. :bannana:

I cannot believe the luck I am having at the mo...

First, I find a bloody crack in my windscreen which seems to have just mysteriously appeared! (no evidence of anything hitting the screen.. just a clean, straight crack, right up in the top corner, driver's side)

.. then, I look at the weather forecast to see that the weather may actually be dry on saturday afterall!:mad:

Earliest I can get my windscreen replaced is sunday morning.:mad::mad:

Needless to say, I will not be able to make the meet on saturday even if the weather is indeed dry. :wallbash:

I'm thinking the best thing to do is re-schedule the meet for sometime in september.

Unless, of course, you guys still wanted to go ahead with the meet amongst yourselves.

I'll get back to you all with a new AMG meet date soon.

Sorry guys.

Sorry to hear about that. I think it cracked because you cleaned it too much :D

Not sure why a cracked windscreen would prevent a trip to Bluewater in dry conditions ..

lol
You Joker.

I think my petrol station did it.
I took the car out on wednesday night, just to check the tyre pressures and take it round the block, as it had been sitting in the garage for over a week.
The petrol station has 2 long humps, one after the other, which require you to drive diagonally over them as you leave.
I reckon the flexing in the car, when driving slowly over these bumps, caused the screen to crack.
This, even to me, sounds unlikely, but it really does seem like the only thing that could have caused it during my 30mph 15min drive around the block.

Went into the garage after work yesterday, to wipe the car down, and spotted the crack.

Car was fine before I took the car out on wed night.

Bluewater:

Yeah, fair enough point.
I'm just not wanting to cause any more problems by driving it with a cracked screen, that's all.
For the sake of a night, I'm thinking I should wait for sunday, get the screen replaced and then not have to worry about it.

I think the glass guy is in for a whole new experience when he meets me and finds out how I am about the car.

I wish i was there to witness said event. :D :( :) :wallbash: :wallbash:

Will wait for the next date at Bluewater.

lol!

The poor, poor guy.

He has no idea what awaits him.

Sorry to scrap the meet, Peter.

Let me get the windscreen back to normal (unable to think about anything else at the mo :o)..

Then I'll get set to work on a new AMG meet.

Good news and good luck. There is a company near me ( Chertsey ) called Old School Windscreens they would be the only people i would trust, they did the Front & Rear screens of my old 560 Sec and replaced the side windows of my CL, they are the best.

Hey bud.
Rear screen?
Wow, what happened there? It's pretty unusal to need the rear one replacing, isn't it?

Hopefully I will get a good result too.

I have been told by a few people now, to calm down and relax about it. :o
I've been told that screens can be changed these days with minimal carnage. :bannana:

I nervously await sunday morning.....

Yes a very rare occurrence  ;), i don't know how it happened
