bodywork

I mix IPA with orange juice, tastes better than plain water. Water can send you blind if you drink it neat.:)

Hi

Yes a chemical bath is a de-ironiser. I use it after washing, but re wash after using also before rinse off.

By standards C1 is an expensive product. Thats like saying crystal rock is cheap because it costs £795.00 a tub, but you could apply around 45 coats. If you broke down whats exactly used im sure all things are cheap. P-ZERO Tyes cost X amount but I get x amount of miles. So in the breakdown there dirt cheap too;) But life's not quite like that is it.

Soooo, CR at £795/45 = £18 per layer, usually you would want 2 layers of wax, so £36. And how long would CR last, maybe 4 to 6 months if garaged and cared for and driven lightly in good weather? C1 looks an absolute bargain at £30 for 3 years longevity.

Ahhh zzzzzzzz.....crystal rock is expensive because you are paying for the high concentration of carnauba. You are paying for the small team of Brazilian's to locate it, use it and re plant the tree as they are far and few. It's finish when applied to a car of concourse stature is totally in rivalled. G- techniq products will never match its finish. It's for people who like the finer things in life for the most expensive cars in the world. It's like b and o compared to a Philips. They all do the same but if you want the best you will have the best. And you can work costs to the exact penny all day long but without the skills you will never get it looking right. There's a reason why I work on the best cars in the world and a reason to why I got entered in the concourse at salon prive this year. That's 80 acceptances in the entire world by the way.

All I'm saying is, buy the product, and apply at your exact costs, but there's a good reason why clients pay top money for me to detail there cars. Infant just read the ridiculous amount of testimonials I am acquired.

Also 2 layers applied to a car used everyday the right way will last 1 year, and yes I have documented proof.

Absolutely correct and your post highlights this to a T.

B&O isn't Hi-Fi, it's just well marketed...;)

+1 for C1

C1 is not really a product that will make your car shine like Carnauba wax.

C1 is there to protect your car paint work.

Had it applied on another car from new in 09. And since than the car was mostly washed by polish car wash place, and the car still have hardly any swirl marks at all.

C1 should be apply by the pros. Gtechniq have got a new-ish product called C1.5 silo seal, I've just applied on to the CLS, very easy to use, will see how it last.

As we speak now, the star guard has most likely already left your paintwork. I hope Mercedes are giving this product away for free and not scamming customers.
StarGard offered to me yesterday by the dealer for my new C350 due for delivery next week - £399!
They're also trying to persuade me to have SMARTProtect at £449 to cover very minor bodywork repairs such as chips, small scuffs, minor dents and light scratches. And of course they want me to take out combines GAP & RTI (Return to Invoice) insurance for £599. I can have all three for the grand total of £1,195. Even with a car costing £41.5k, I can think of better uses for all that dosh!
