Would anyone know the size of bolt and type i.e. torx or hex head etc for the brake caliper fixing for a 2003 W203 320 saloon?

I ma pretty sure I have most szes but if not I can pick up the correct one after work this evening.

Thanks.

Thank you.

I posisbly was unclear in my post, what I need to know is the size of socket / torx bit required to remove these bolts. Also, whilst I remember is it advised to use loctite and to what torque setting?

Sorry fdr any confusion.

Hi

I cant remember right now but I think its a HEX size 19
Loctite is a must or new bolts

torque shoud be something like 115 newton meters

I cannot find a 19mm socket in my tool kit, have a 19mm combination spanner! so off to the tool shop tomorrow.

The calliper is held onto the carrier with either a 6mm allan key or a T40 Torx socket. The carrier to hub bolt sizes can be either 18 or 19mm.

I am assuming the caliper carrier needs removing to change the disc?

Yes it does. Easy job too. Before fitting the disk make sure the hub is clean and put a little copper slip on the hub face after. You might find that the disk wont fall off as it should. A sharp rap with a copper hammer usually frees them.

Just to note, I have the Lucas caliper, I found that is held on to the caliper by 12mm bolts and my carrier had 18mm ones.

Just need to get the disc screw out now!:wallbash:
