Hi guys
Covered by a service car plan last year MB dealership was suppose to change brakes
fluid on my mercedes ( last change was done in 2020 and it needs to be done every 2 years) when servicing the car. It didn’t happened and, on this year service they are trying to charge me 100 pounds in order to replace it even if i’ve told them that the replacement was suppose to happened last year and was included in the care plan. Anyone else went through this situation ?

Welcome.

The dealer is supposed to do whatever the Electronic Service Sheet (ESS) says is due at the time of service, so it's odd that it wasn't done last year if ESS flagged it up.

How and when did you find out that the brake fluid change wasn't done last year? And did you raise it with the dealer at the time? Also, is this the same dealer, or two different dealers?

I did want to open a new service plan and i’ve been told that i’m not eligible because the brake fluid was not changed last year , so in order to open a new plan i need to pay for the replacement. And yes , is the same dealership. Tried to contact the dealership few times , every time i’ve been told that a manager will call me back but it never happened

Possibly the brake fluid change was done but not recorded? I had a similar issue some time ago (incorrect information recorded on the Digital Service Record after a service under the plan), I called the dealer and they apologised and amended the entry on DSB.

Hi , that happened to me on a service on my C207 at my local Mercedes Dealer.

The dealer did not even tell me BF not changed.

All sorts of reasons by Mercedes why it was not changed , I told the dealer I paid for it through my service plan and I want the fluid changed.

They did.

Never been backed since but travel to a decent MB dealer who is really good dealer.

Don’t really understand what you mean or maybe you don’t understand what i mean so i will repeat : Dealership have told me that was not done ….

That s what i’m probably going to do, but before i will make sure they will change my brake fluid

So to clarify :

You had a service plan last year and the dealer never replaced the brake fluid , even though it was in the schedule to be replaced during the service ?

You have been refused a continuation of the service plan because they didn`t do what they should have , last year ?

So, they now expect you to pay for the fluid service and you are fine with that ?

That’s correct , but of course i’m not fine with that… i already filled a complain against the dealership

Cant believe that it would come to filing a complaint when the dealership are 100% in the wrong.

You would think that they would just absorb the cost of the fluid change to save the potential grief.

Welcome to the world of MB main dealer servicing.

Also to clarify, is the dealer saying:

"Yes, we should have done this last year, but we didn't"

Or

"Looking at the car's DSB, it seems that there's no record of the brake fluid having been replaced last year"

(They should have the worksheets from last year to check if it was actually done but not recorded, or not done at all)

There have been plenty of stories on here of main dealers wanting customers to pay for the dealers' mistakes. In some cases they must get away with it because the customer does not know enough to be able to stand their ground.
Ultimately it is why many of don't go near a main dealer; it is much easier to deal with a good independent.

Got my car to a independent dealer, this is how my engine air filter looks like after 1 year( supposing was replaced on my last service done with MB in 2022). But i’ve been told that no way an air filter can look like that after 1 year so in reality MB have not replaced it. And oil filer is dated 2021 , probably that one haven’t been replaced last year as well

Result! :thumb:

And had the fools said Mia culpa and done it straight away, instead of first pi$$ing you off before eventually giving-in, then they'd even get some credit from you for doing that.
