Brand New Series of Wheeler Dealers

Love the premise of this show and it always gives me an excuse to watch something else about cars.

Love Ed however (and I may be in the minority here) I just find Mike (or his on-screen persona) irritating....

How many times does he sit on the wing/bonnet of someone else's motor? Argh!! Total disrespect. If he did that on any car I owned I'd be introducing my boot to his rear three quarters....

His infamous "I'm gonna come in with a hard offer", attempting to knock a massive wedge off, only to act incredulous when someone tries the same on him....

I know it's 'entertainment' but for me it's Ed and his work that makes the show - so IMHO: Mr China - excellent, Mike Me Ol' China - not so much...;)

Anyone know what season this is? I need to look for the episode online as I dont have full fat Sky anymore

You are being ironic here, right?

I would have thought that 99.9999% of the worlds population, including those without a TV, would find Mike "irritating *******" Brewer instantly punchable.

The other 0.0001% would be his mum.

Though I'd be surprised if she didn't want to give him a slap too...

I'm sure it's the first time they mentioned the mileage too, and on numerous occasions

You may be just right, and if so, two firsts, ie

Labour costs

Mileage

Hopefully thy will add the advertising costs.

I like Big Ed and find that Mr B a tad nauseating when he (IMO) talks down to, and belittles Ed. At times I feel that Ed is going to lose his rag and pick up Mr B and body slam him to the ground:D

Did they ever respray the front wings on that Capri?

They always have less power for the same capacity over there as their petrol is pants, like 85 octane. Ours is 95 minimum.

Not the case... They use a different rating called AKI.. we use RON.

Difference between RON, MON, and AKI

Because of the 8 to 12 octane number difference between RON and MON noted above, the AKI shown in Canada and the United States is 4 to 6 octane numbers lower than elsewhere in the world for the same fuel. This difference between RON and MON is known as the fuel's Sensitivity,[4] and is not typically published for those countries that use the Anti-Knock Index labelling system.

See the table in the following section for a comparison.

The reason the 560 produces less than our 500 is due to emmissions restrictions.
There were some Euro and Jap 560's in LHD that had the full 300 BHP.

In real life he's just another bloke - i had quite a long chat with him a couple of years ago. He's really down to earth and the show is just an act as foreigners like the 'old cockney charm'

'old out ya 'and......

Not sure if its the latest series.. I watch wheeler dealers on Quest (ch36 freeviewtv)
Ed's a dude! Love a garage like that

I enjoyed it. Plenty of mechanics and that injector spray pattern tester was simple but effective. The only let down left on the vehicle was the aftermarket radio.

44 man hours quoted still works out at getting paid over £110 p/h, not bad even if they split it

I loved the new wheels. They look like the Lorinser LO but, IIRC, Mike called them something else on the programme? Will have to replay the episode to find out.

Pretty sure he mentioned Lorinser, rears looked very deep dish

After watching last night's episode, with the little Honda.

It's definitely the end now Mike's starting swinging the spanners!

OK so far in Series 13

Ep 1 - very good and enjoyed watching it
Ep 2. - was OK but didn't like the 'retro' air con. Basically a bolted on fan heater connected to a compressor. I would have though they may have tried to use the existing vents?
Ep 3 - Mike should leave the spanners to Edd. I bet the panel behind the gauges looked terrible. Also don't understand why Honda would buy a car from a third party like that.

Ep2 and Ep3 - while i watched them, these are not cars i like, i want to see something more interesting...

In fairness... they have probably done every decent car going now over the years

Just watched the R107 episode. Thanks for the heads up.

Some misinformation there, but also plenty of useful stuff. (The US 560 is less powerful than the late model European 500 by a fair amount.)

Anyway a good watch. Lorinser LO wheels, I have the same on my SE, love them.
