Tis true, unfortunately. The exhaust and emissions crippled them, the compression ratio is lower too so it's not an easy thing to sort out.

Anyone know what season this is? I need to look for the episode online as I dont have full fat Sky anymore
You are being ironic here, right?
I'm sure it's the first time they mentioned the mileage too, and on numerous occasions
Did they ever respray the front wings on that Capri?
They always have less power for the same capacity over there as their petrol is pants, like 85 octane. Ours is 95 minimum.

Love Ed however (and I may be in the minority here) I just find Mike (or his on-screen persona) irritating....

I would have thought that 99.9999% of the worlds population, including those without a TV, would find Mike "irritating *******" Brewer instantly punchable.
The other 0.0001% would be his mum.
Though I'd be surprised if she didn't want to give him a slap too...
In real life he's just another bloke - i had quite a long chat with him a couple of years ago. He's really down to earth and the show is just an act as foreigners like the 'old cockney charm'
I enjoyed it. Plenty of mechanics and that injector spray pattern tester was simple but effective. The only let down left on the vehicle was the aftermarket radio.
44 man hours quoted still works out at getting paid over £110 p/h, not bad even if they split it
I loved the new wheels. They look like the Lorinser LO but, IIRC, Mike called them something else on the programme? Will have to replay the episode to find out.
