I've been doing some signifcant research (without any luck so far) into the compatability issue between the SAP puck (V2) and any device running Windows Mobile. I was hoping to change my old and tired Nokia N73 running Tomtom 6, for a new HTC Touch running Tomtom 7.

I know i could swap my SAP for HFC or ViseeO 2. But i really want to keep the external antenna for improved signal performance.

Can anyone shed any light on the latest news with this issue?

Hi everyone.

Has anyone got any experience of using the HTC Touch HD phone with the following cradles:-

SAP V2
SAP V3
HFP Cradle

Many thanks in advance and happy Christmas.

Hi acz,

I have the SAP v2 module. It worked fine with all the Nokias I have had, I then changed to a HTC Touch Pro and could never get it to work so changed phone again, now working fine with Samsung i8910 (Symbian OS, same as Nokias) on the SAP v2.

I believe the v3 will work with a wider range of phones, but can't confirm.

Cheers,
Eddie.

I read somewhere that Windows Mobile was not supported in any of the MB related BT modules. Can't remember now where I got that from, but I read a lot of information!

That is mainly why I settled on SAP V2 and Samsung i8910.

Thanks guys. I wish there was some way I could try out a SAP V3 module. I might settle for a HFP module as I believe these may work.

Using the old HTC XDA Orbit (o2) and never had a problem with the HFP. Never got to try it with the SAP modules.

It may well be worth your while to contact Alfie or Richard, who are revered members on this forum. They should be able to help with questions of this nature. If you are down sarf then you may be able to drop in and try before you buy...

I am impressed that anyone has managed to get a SAP V2 to work with anything other than a Nokia.

The SAP V3 supports more Sim Access Profile phones now but is still limited (and expensive) compared to the Viseeo and HFP.

Try before you buy is an option;)
