Buying a C200 Classic Auto 1999 in Ireland

Hi everyone, just spent a while (hours) reading some of the postings based on a search I did for C200. Don't really undestand all this W202 lingo etc.

Now, I'm driving a VW Bora 1999 1.9 TDI 90BHP 55+ MPG, pretty heavy and tough car to drive - my shoulder is really messed up from changing gear, and I have back trouble from steering... etc.. etc.. Doing 30,000 miles a year

I've always wanted a merc. so I came across the C200 in a dealers.. 65,000 miles, body looks okay.. paint missing from the bumpers in a couple of spots, no major scraps. Some stone chips with rust. Something strange about the right hand side doors, where the metal is joined right at the edge along the side of the doors, looks like someone touched up the joint with paint..???

All the threads I read seem to suggest I check the ball joints, shocks, and ensure that the car was properly serviced. Anyone had or have one who might be able to indicate if I can expect a trouble free ride or indicate what I might expect. I haven't bought the car yet - I'd appreciate if someone could tell me what else to look out for. Fuel consumption is around 30 mpg from my research. Is rust a big problem like the search results appears to suggest?

make sure all the abs,esp, bas,traction control, warning lights light up when ignition on and all go out when engine starts, no jolts on auto box...
