Hi guys,

Anyone know if i will have problems fitting some alloys from the states to a UK spec SLK. I spoke to the alloy company and they said it should be fine and that maybe i might need some spacers but that would be it.
If anyone knows any different, please let me know!

Thanks

Patrick

The fact that they are from the US shouldn't be a problem.

What is important is the type of wheels, the size & offset (also refferred to as ET).

If you can post this info. someone will be able to advise / confirm compatability.

here is the link

they are in the 18inch section, 2nd row far right. They are the ITN 98 chromes.

They show up as 8.5 x 18 with an ET of 35. Not totally sure about the ET (Offset) on this size, that's why you may need spacers. I've seen some 18's with an offset of 37.

You 'may' have an issue with rubbing / fowling of the front's as they're 8.5 inch wide all round. Advice / confirmation any one else?

I would have thought 18"s on an SLK would rub and imho - just don't go - they are too big, especially chrome - but each to their own.

I would imagine the ride quality to be really badly affected too. There'll be virtually no rubber between the rims and the road so it'll be hard and lumpy :(

17"s would be a better choice imo.

Well, usually an 18x8.5ET35 is fine for the SLK front with 225/40R18. Because they are mulitfit replicas, make sure they supply the correct bolts!

Cheers Murray!
