If so, I think the knob is attached to the shaft. Lift up the gaitor from the bottom of the knob and you should see a bolt (13mm IIRC) at the base of the shaft.
As Spike has said, lift up the gaitor from the edges. From memory (and I'm going back a few years here..) the gearknob part is held on with a collar that untwists which then allows you to remove the knob?
Anyway, pull the gaitor off and you should see what we mean
