C207 E250 Tyres - XL needed?

Hello

Recently picked up my first Mercedes and I'm really pleased so far. However, the front was sat on some really cheap Chinese tyres so I'm replacing them ASAP

They're 235/40/18 97W XL

When I pop in my reg to tyre sites is shows 235/40/18 91Y - is this correct? Not sure I will need XL tyres?

If its any help my E55 has 97Y tyres fitted.
I'd go with the tyre site recommendations.

Yeah all the sites (Camskills, Halfords, Tyres on the Drive) only show the 235/40/18 91Y for the fronts.

I've heard the XL are a little heavier and noisier too.

Can't believe a genuine approved Mercedes dealer would fit Landsail tyres!

I agree, for a quality car you would expect a quality tyre to be fitted.

Yes those are the ones.

I've never cut corner on tyres and now I know why. Over the past few days it's been raining continually and the car performs so badly sat on poor rubber.

Aqua planing on motorways whilst under steering on roundabouts. Can't wait to change them this week.

Think I'll stick with the 91Y variants.
