I've never had the same reaction to any other beer, but Qing Dao then (forty-five years ago) was a dark, heavy German-style beer, not a lager. I used to drink copious amounts of Tiger and /or San Mig, and apart from falling over from time to time and a splitting headache the next morning I never experienced any ill-effects from them.
