Hi guys, my mother is looking for a new car, and she really likes mercs ☺ so I went with her to view a 2002 avantgarde c270 estate today and it was blowing blue smoke when revved. Not black or white just blue, when first started from cold it idled quite rough but settled down when warmed up.
No real noise from the turbo but it must be burning oil somewhere! It did it every time it was revved.
On the test drive I could not see any when accelerating hard through the rear view mirror.
Is there anything obvious or could be? I thought these engines were bullet proof; the mileage is only 127k with mostly mb dealer history and 2 owners, so it's been looked after is the any common faults to look for on it?
I am handy with the spanners and my mum really likes the car but blowing blue smoke I know is not a good sign.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ☺
Thanks Regards
Steve
