c280 2009 Jerking rpm's?

Hi,

Im a little worried, we have had a 2009 c280 for around 3 months now, today my dad drove the car and he reported that after slowing down it was as if the 7G transmission was stuck in 1st or the rpm's were going up and down by themselves, the hesitation was supposedly so bad the car was not drivable. He stated that he had to pull over and restart the car in order for it to stop acting strange. Almost seemed like a misfire episode.

The car is fine now, im thinking he may have put it in manual mode by accident however he isnt a car person so didnt think to check. It was in comfort mode when I went to check.

There are no errors on the dash and my drive just now was fine.

Are there any thoughts as to what this could have been.

Did he lean on the gear lever and put it into first? Quite a common thing to do.

Hi, could be. I did think so because in my experience German car dashboards light up like a Christmas tree at any sign of a fault.

I will tell him to be careful.
