I keep thinking about these (mainly estate version), they seem very reasonably priced, quite quick and not bad looking!

I have a good indi at Kirkham to look after it too. Is there anything I need to know about the C32 AMG? Before I do more than look? :)

Thankyou chaps and chappesses for your thoughts...

Mpg is shocking but you don't buy them for that lol....usual c class issues id guess...rust, stepper motors, air con leaks, super charger bearings, heated seat pads break, memory seat controllers....I've had all but the bearing go on mine and I've had it 9 months lol BUT....worth every penny as its the ultimate sleeper! Mines a black estate with just the C32 AMG on the boot so thats the only hint of what it is!

I've been in this predicament a few times, and I've never really found the right 'time' to buy one.

As Neil says, there's a few common issues with them, but if you take that into account then you'll have an absolute beast of a car for sub £5k.

And another plus side, for about 650quid you can get eurocharged to post a new supercharger pulley to you....remotely map it and then you'll have around the 400hp mark.....

Another one to the list....intercooler pump failure...can be replaced with a newer pump fitted to the focus rs

Have you dismissed the idea of a C55? Similar performance, less complexity engine-wise and *that* soundtrack. Don't get me wrong a 'charged V6 has character but a V8 has heart.

Neil have you realy had all of those problems:wallbash: to be fair iv had to change all the spark plugs, new ATF fluid, new tyres all round, and the crank possition sensor changed. And now the bearing needs changing, but that's a fairly cheap fix. But she does need more work doing.

Slightly off topic how's your pulley and map doing. Plus the only reason it's half De badged is because there so bloody expensive to replace:D:thumb:

I haven't dismissed it, in fact I'd love one. Its just that they seem to be outside my current price-range whereas quite a few c32 are sub 5K. Which leaves me some spare for the inevitable maintenance.

Give it a few months ;)

There's a 56 plate C55 estate with 94k miles on the Trader for £9.5k at the minute.

I can donate £11.92p to the fund Simon.

Thanks Lee, all donations gratefully recieved!

Don't ever let it be said that Yorkshiremen are tight! :D

Sounds like a good project. As long as your willing to spend £££ you won't regret it

The pulley and map has turned it into a bit of an animal! Best bang for ya buck as the charger pulley is the easier to fit....and yup I've had all the issues in my original post plus the normal servicing costs....but now its in pretty good shape and your right about the badges!

personally spend that little more at the start and get a good one with lower milage.

Bits on AMG models are not cheap and can easily add up to alot more than the extra you would in buying a lower milage better condition one.

tbh if the heat pads go, just live without the heated seat...

if you can get the C55, its rarer, no supercharger which makes it less complex and less prone to the heat issues of the supercharger. and it goes like a rocket!

Glad to hear that your enjoying those power upgares. Have you had it dynoed yet?

I was looking into getting the c55, as alps has said no supercharger issues, but they were just outside of my price range. But with the c32 you can gain more bhp from relatively cheap upgrades. Which I plan to do, but I need to start saving again
