C350e anyone considering one?

Quick question
I opted for the crystal grey real leather. In some videos I've noticed matching color door cards and the lower dash. In others it looks like just the seat and door cards are white with everything black - can someone clarify this as it wasn't a choice. When I built my Bmw it gives you the option of eg oyster/black world oyster/oyster world

So, I'm new to the forum, hello all.

Just needed a place to vent.

I ordered my C35e in April 2015, had a provisional delivery date of September, it turned up on the 10th Dec.

Lovely car, really nice to drive, once I figured out the hybrid system, I was getting about 50-60mpg, and then about 20-30mpg when I had the heavy foot syndrome!!

After 15 days I had issues with charging on the Ecotricity charging stations, it just wouldn't sync the car, about 5 days after I plugged in at home and blew the RCD on the ring main, the morning after had the red light, BATTERY MALFUNCTION flash up, and called MB, advice was to turn off and back on, then call back if it happened again.

It did.

Twice.

They took it in for investigation, and when they plugged it in, the car tripped the diagnosis equipment.

That was 4 days ago, and I have a Vauxhall as a courtesy, and not a happy bunny at all.

Is this similar to other people, I'm assuming that I have one of the first ones delivered and so I fear I will be getting all the bugs!

If you look in the C Class brochure, towards the back, it has the different combinations for interior trim.

Crystal grey has black lower dash and door cards.

Thanks This says artico but imagine the color scheme is the same for real leather - much appreciated

Took delivery of mine in very early December and its developed the same problems, thought originally it was my home unit and had Chargemaster come out and gave it the all clear.

Tried a public charger which also tripped the breakers so looks certainly to by my vehicle that is at fault.

Mine is going in on 8th Feb and to be honest I'm not really in a rush as I'm a high mileage driver and the relatively small amount that home charging contributes isn't really making a huge difference for me.

Only thing I would miss is the preheat facility, and this I can achieve by selecting E-Save mode which means I always arrive home with enough battery capacity to provide this.

Bought my C350e for a number of reasons but especially the BiK benefit.

If I'd known how poor it's real world MPG was I'm not sure I would have chosen it instead going for a 330d.

I'm using a fuel card and am waiting for the call from fleet to question how a vehicle which is at the cutting edge of green technology can be generating the same sort of efficiencies as a 1970's Ford Anglia.

May be useful to run a poll so people can indicate issues or trouble free. People tend to search for Internet forums when they have a problems I it's always hard to judge scale

My mate has the same.. ish... not sure about it tripping the power... but his just wont charge since between xmas and new year.

Been in the garage a week with no details of a fix.

The issue is only a small number of staff are trained on these, plus they can only fix what they know about.

It would be interesting to hear from owners who haven't had any charging issues

Mine seems to be working okay at the moment (touch wood, hopefully not jinxed it now). Probably charged up around 40 - 50 times now on a mix of 3 pin and type 2. Only charged in the rain a few times though.

I got mine at the beginning of September and have charged it regularly, no faults as yet on that score. Have had a gearbox fault within the first 4 days of ownership. The last issue was a relay on the suspension pump. Both times MB uk got me into a rented MB. They compensated me for the first issue and I have been told they will be looking at further companesation for the latest one. My local dealer has also been helpful. It is worth calling MB uk customer services, they will take the complaint and get you into another car.

I got mine 3 days ago and so far so good. Charged four or five times using a range of public chargers, some with my cable and at others with tethered units.

It was nice to receive the email from my car this evening whilst at the gym to say charging was complete. A good work out is time enough to go from 10% back too full charge.

Well got my delivery date now! very excited.

Was ordered back in July and due in to the stealer on 29th Jan...

Saloon Premium Plus in brilliant blue.

Hoping it's a vast improvement on my "loan" C220 sport in black (which looks like a funeral car and handles like a boat compared to my old BMW335d)

Happy Christmas me :)

Good reading this forum has got me through the wait.

Hi Moe... It'll certainly be worth the wait, if I get five I'll post some pics of my blue beauty. I hadn't seen a blue one in the metal until mine arrived and boy does it look well in the sunshine. Definitely more striking than a black version although I do have a soft spot for the amg in black. Each to their own and all that!

My car left the factory on the 16th January and is on its way now...!

Had a couple of instances one week where the domestic charger has shown an error light and not charged. Disconnected, reconnected- all OK. Maybe not plugged in tight enough, I don't know. But hasn't happened since.

Otherwise, been fine since delivery in November! Touch wood...
Most of my day to day mileage is electric only so it gets cycled almost twice a day.
Also to note, I only ever charge on the slow setting (I select that with the big button on the charger). It gets very warm on the full power setting, much less so on low power. I'm happy to charge that way as I usually leave it long enough to get a full charge, and I'd rather not push some of my garage wiring too hard... ;)
Whether charging on that setting helps at all, I don't know! I have on occasion charged at full rate and equally had no issues though.

I know there's lots of C350e drivers on here, it stands to reason those with issues are going to be far more vocal about it, dare say the vast majority are probably quite content and don't have any more to say about it!

That's not a bad delivery time. Mine ordered end Nov being told May delivery.. I'm sure it will be worth it. Had a 300h demo which I loved, 350e will be even better!

Keep us posted on your delivery time, i'm assuming as mine is only just being ordered delivery will be July based on that.

We have had ours for 2 months and run it mostly on electric, full charges charges twice a day, come rain or shine. No problems to report.
