C350e anyone considering one?

If your vehicle breaks down due to an electrical fault and your lease company want you to ring them instead of MB the first thing that the lease company are going to need to do is take your car to an MB dealer so why not let you use the MB assist in the first place??

Our VW work vans used to be with Benfields from up north (now filtering into direct from VW) and any problems we have with the vans is solved by VW, but we still have to go through Benfields so they can book in with VW. Same with VW roadside assist

I used to have a Leaseplan car, always just phoned the dealer to book services etc, just made sure I said it was a Leaseplan car - they call the lease company before they do any work to make sure they will get paid.
The option was call Leaseplan and give 2 or 3 dates when would suit me, hit or miss on courtesy car OR phone dealer and work out date in one call, guaranteed courtesy car...
Now moved to Alphabet I will attempt the same once I can confirm local dealer is used by them

I have a BMW with Alphabet and any work/servicing I just book into the dealer and they charge Alphabet - works great and can use any dealer or tyre outlet hopefully this be the same with MB as I leased through the dealer

Would be much easier that way

Glad new contract is with VW themselves direct. New van next month I think so I'll have a speedy service dealing with them

It would appear that Mercedes have been aware that their 3.7Kw charging system does not match their competitors plug-in hybrid vehicles and the expected charging time for a C350e at an Ecotricity Charging Station will take approx. 2hrs from 0 to 100%. This is considerably longer than I was informed when I made initial sales enquires or when the delivered vehicle was handed over from the main dealer!
I'm surprised that customers feel a 16A home charging kit would make any difference as vehicle is limited to 3.7Kw which is a considerable design shortfall.

Absolutely love my interior, great place to be

Just been told mine is in the dealers next tuesday, a week early.

Ooh ... mines due at the dealers on the 22nd. It was completed at the factory last Friday ... I wonder if it's going to be early ?!

Supplying dealer was chasing me on the phone yesterday as mine "has been at port for a while". Last conversation 10 days ago was "it's going to be at port on 16th, a couple days early".

As its being delivered direct, and I was expecting a 1st March delivery, have left it. Lease company has agreed to Connect Me and given me my 16 reg!! Plan is to book into local Merc dealer on 1st for Connect me activation and temperature software upgrade.

3.7kW is 16A so it's pointless going for a larger home socket unless you have another full EV. We have a 32A in the car park at work to give some flexibility for other vehicles, though at present there is just mine and another 350e using it. It takes about an hour and a half to full charge from 20%.

Though... for a home charger, for the sake of a few extra quid may as well go 32amp to future proof surely ?
