C350e anyone considering one?

Hi. My biggest concern/sticking point is the size of the boot on the estate. I currently have a Passat with 600 litres of space, and the quoted reduced 350 litres in the C350e is a big difference. It's about the same as a Golf or A3. Do you find it a limitation on family trips or holidays, or is it a matter of supplementing with a roof box? Day to day is not a problem, I just know the Passat boot is maxed out come holidays and Christmas. Could be a good excuse to buy less presents and take fewer clothes!

We have an estate and the lost room is in depth, off to France in the summer and I plan to just stack a bit higher and put the luggage net up. Managed four weekend cases, laptop bags and coats etc in there so far on a work trip so pretty sure we can manage luggage for four. It is a good excuse to tell everyone to pack less though as I need room for wine on the way back!
I imagine it will be a lot smaller than your Passat though, roof box is always an option

How is the space measured though? Feels like it's floor to boot cover.

I was worried as my hatchback Civic has 467 litres of boot space, so to move to an estate with 350 seemed very strange but I think the extra roof height will massively help. Looking at photos it doesn't look small to me but it's going to be a lot smaller than your Passat, it's smaller than a Golf Estate boot too.

People also tend to fill the space they have, we manage summer holidays in our Civic even when we had a large buggy and travel cot in there but have friends who struggled to fit everything they wanted to take into an S-Max with the same number of kids..... ;)

Quick Question!

I have had my C350e for the past month now and how do I stop the "Speed Sign" showing on the dashboard when you enter the zone, it at first was useful, but now annoying particularly as it sits there for a few seconds - especially as those pesky speed cameras tend to be there at that point of speed change, so Im watching my speed as I enter a 30 for example as I like the digital display, then speed camera is there but I can no longer see my MPH (other than the dial thats obscured by the wheel) so having to tap OK all the time so blind on what the speed is - does that make sense!

Never tried to turn it off because I think it's a brilliant feature especially on unfamiliar roads, but if you want to disable it- it's called speed limit assist so have a look for a setting for that.

Having come from a BMW 3 Series- although it doesn't look loads different, in terms of usable space I do "feel" the difference. Once the pushchair is in and whatever else, it feels a lot tighter. I don't think the boot is as wide either.
Got another child on the way so guess I'll be getting a roofbox soon...

Pull up the safety net when needed.
I think you have like 1400 liters then.

We're soon to not have a buggy which will help however, we occasionally do days out in our mini where the buggy takes up 80% of the boot so the 350 will seem like a van.....

I did originally turn off the traffic sign assist, it's back on now. I'm in work now but if your still struggling, I'll put on tomorrow how you turn it off.
It's easy, I think it was the menu on the speedo dash. Press the little house then settings, if I remember.

Hi All

Been a while since I've been on. Done 6700 miles now.

Went into Merc yesterday for the 5hr update to command to show temp gauge!! However still isn't on there so will be calling them on Monday. Remember seeing something on here from one of you ( I want to say Saxon) about having the update done and where in the settings to go to change it? I have played in all the settings and can't find anything. Annoyingly had a C250CDi sport and that had it on. In that car the temp was where the kmh is on my car, the kmh is then displayed where the engine mode shows on my car so it seems there is not enough room for all of it.... any advice ideas please?

MPG - Still can't get over 38 - 40 mpg, doesn't matter what mode and how I drive its just not great. Unless I drive everywhere at 50mph I can't see how I can get it better. Advised by Merc you have to have done over 10K and been through 2 seasons for them to take anything serious about it.

ILS - Anyone else getting the Traffic sign assist and ILS error messages coming on a lot?

Still love it though and although the boot is smaller than I would have liked everything else is great.

Hope lots of you now have got your cars after the long waits.

Is that your average?

If so I think that is amazing.

You have to disable it in the settings menu, not the one on the big screen but the menu between the gauges.

I turned it off straight away, it's such a pain.

It does put the speed limit onto the Nav screen though which is much better.

On a 208 mile commute and making a lot effort. A tank tends to be more like 33mpg. Depends of course how many charges I have had.

Anyone noticed a difference in their electric bills? Or is just BGas upping their rates around the same time as I got my car??!!

Please note this is without plugging the car in from new (well I did just twice with the 3 pin connection to test it).

For those who may be interested, I presume this is this little haptic feedback device....
