C350e anyone considering one?

Anyone got the c350e with the night package?

What are you referring to as the "night package"? There wasn't such an option when I acquired mine in March. I have the "LED Intelligent Light System" and I have reservations about it.

Had the fun of a fast run on the A38 late on a clear night recently. I couldn't figure out what the headlights were supposed to be doing. In particular, when all opposing traffic had gone by, the system took 3-4 seconds to restore full beam and there was nothing I could do to over-ride it. I would rather be in control of such an important function.

On my list of things to do is that I am going to see if I can customise the system. For the moment, I have disabled it.

I don't have much call for night driving at this time of the year...:D

It's an option now, removes a bit of the chrome bits, adds privacy glass and a bit of black on the alloys

Thanks; I did find it later and realise that it has nothing to do with lights! So it's an April 2016 specification addition! Oh Dear! My car is out-of-date already).

I got my car in February, and didnt think much of the LED intelligent head lights either. I couldnt see for example how they were bending around corners, or self leveling, or adapting on motorways and junctions etc. I then checked and realised that they had to be switched on! Now that I've done this I'm very impressed!

Car ordered mid-January through LeasePlan, estimated delivery mid-July, car arrived at the garage this week, and being delivered next Wed (13th July)

Premium Plus Saloon with Drive Assist Package in Brilliant Blue

Can... Not... Wait !!! :D

(and given 6 months notice - I still haven't managed to get a charge point fitted for day 1... sigh!)

Delivery Date!!

Well, I have finally received my delivery date email. I open it with much trepidation after placing the order in mid January.

Will it arrive before or after my impending holiday?

Will I be able to take it on a nice road trip during August?

Will it 'eck...

Delivery date is currently scheduled to late September... well, it's a good thing I'm a believer in 'good things come to those who wait'!

Guess I'll have to slum it in my 13 e class for a bit longer ;)

Ordered late December and got mine at the start of June, 2000 miles in and definitely worth the wait in my opinion, hope you feel the same when it finally comes!!

...after placing the order in mid January.

Why are you only finding out now? I got mine through LeasePlan and they gave me what I thought was the 'bad news' about a 6 month wait within a week of the order (mid-Jan)?

Not to rub it in - but mine arrives tomorrow morning :bannana:

and for the record - I've had no problems with getting Mercedes Me enabled - asked for a letter from LP and they sent it straight across - so I guess they're getting a bit more used to requests these days...

I've no idea to be honest - when I placed the order through LeasePlan back in Jan they estimated it would be delivered mid July. I've been chasing the dealer for news for a few weeks and finally told me they had the allocation come in this week with a delivery of September.

I was actually dithering between this and the BMW 330e back in Jan when I saw LP originally had a delivery estimate of 9 months. LP told me that had improved to 5 months so I decided I would go for the 350e. I'm glad I did even though it's taking forever, the BMW doesn't seem to be a patch on the 350e.

Good to hear that LP aren't messing around with the Mercedes Me setup so thats some good news at least. September will come around quick enough, I'm just surprised it's such a long lead time. Managed to get my facelift E220 within 3 months by ordering on the first day but guess the E was pretty well established by that point even if it was a facelift version.

I'd put money on them 'losing' your order in April when the new spec came through and having to put it through as a new order

Make sure you nail them on the price - as they tried to increase mine, as they had removed the £5k government grant and the model has gone up as well.

I'm sure September will come round soon enough!

... My car arrived today - and I'm absolutely delighted with it. Spent most of the afternoon on work conference calls sat in the front seat playing with the gadgets and settings. Got the Mercedes Me app up and running - a little disappointed with that - you seem to get more functionality through the mobile website - but a minor thing. But everything else is awesome - like the drive - which is good because is not driven one beforehand. Will post a couple of pictures when I get some time.

Like your enthusiasm - and agree! I find that the App and Web do slightly different things. The App, for instance, deals with the vehicle status and gives you readings of things like Tyre Pressure, brake fluid, coolant etc.

The Web tells you a few things about the vehicle but a lot more about broader issues such as Route planning, charge points etc.

The App and the Web are complementary really.

If you bookmark the main function page of the website on your iPhone using the "add to home screen" you effectively get a much better app than the official app with all the functionality of the website in an app screen. I don't use the app at all as it has many bits missing.

Hmmmm I have Premium in brilliant blue with rear tints and agree it would be interesting to see how the black gloss trim looks compared to chrome, I like the idea of black wing mirrors. That said, I personally quite like the chrome as it keeps it looking 'premium' and gives a good contrast especially with the chrome door handles and lower side trim. Although I'm glad they binned the chrome on the sides of the rear bumper and in the front grilles before I got mine in December. My wheels appear to already have a subtle (almost wet look) grey on the inner part of the blades. I guess black would make them look more sporty than premium, but can't help but think perhaps making them look smaller, so maybe better if they were 18".

Perhaps I'm bias, but reserve final judgment until I've seen it properly. :thumb::thumb:

I've attached a photo of mine for reference should someone have a photo with night package to compare.

Someone is getting now today I think.

I also have a a December briliant blue and personally I think the black trim wouldn't suit the blue. It needs some brightwork to stand out, but will reserve final judgment until I see one.

Now on white, the black would look very nice.

I agree about the extra bling though, you see some early C's with the odd bits on the lower grills and it look naff.

Looks very different without the chrome, especially with those wheels (are they black too?).

Enjoy it!
