C350e anyone considering one?

I received second email last night from NHS Fleet repeating estimated delivery time of mid December. My price is £318 ordered on 13/5.
I do hope they don't pull out on you like the other guy on here , it seems they don't have a price lock at fleet ..best of luck

Shmern. I think the increase may be the lease companies ignoring the £ 5k grant. If they are working on a RV of say 50% over 36 months then 50% of the grant works out at £ 70 / month

That is what has been happening. Lease companies removing the £5k grant on C350e due to delivery delays exceeding nine months. If Mercedes can get delivery timescales reduced them lease companies will of course reinstate the grant

Yes ditto, but last week they did say the lease company had confirmed the price lock was being honoured and not the new prices but hey anything is possible......

Welcome Burtona to the merry go round that is the 350e saga. Bit of peer support is a great thing.

I think those that have dates are ok, i had some issues with paperwork that cost me a few weeks meaning i was just outside the price lock, now one could argue the reasons for the paperwork delays.... but hey ho. onwards.

As for the Golf, it's a normal 2 year lease, not one thats been handed back, its just the offer thats on. Final price including Pearl Black is £243 for 2 years, delivery 4 weeks (already in stock)

So my grand plan is to take the Golf for 2 years, the first year of which would effectively be the waiting time for a C350e, so In Theory depending on the order times this time next year I could order a C350e to coincide with my final year of the Golf, might even work out better if it has the 9G transmission and any further update/refinements......

I can only hope, Test drove the GTE again today, it's definately no C Class, doesn't feel special like the C Class, but is a REALLY good car. Also drove the I3 again, boy it can shift to (up to 95 anyway) but the shape just doesn't work for me and my Wife hated it :)

Good luck with those that get their C350e, I'll lurk on the forum and sulk quietly as I read about how good it is :)

Hi
I am in the UK and had placed an order with a dealer (a smaller mercedes dealer) for the new plug in hybrid mercedes estate - c350e for a new company car - looks great at 48co2!

I had paid the deposit a month ago and we were waiting until today for a build slot (which I had been told would be approx Oct / Nov 15)

I have just found out that the dealer didn't get enough allocation to even give me a build slot in 2015 at all, and can only say that we should get one in q1 2016. Pretty poor service and we won't use that dealership again.

However - Im now urgently seeking a UK dealer that might have an allocation for the c350e estate and be able to get an order officially raised with a build slot in 2015 , and allow me to claim the Plug In Grant. I really wanted this c350e estate and don't want to have to go back to start looking at alternative cars again.

Please get in contact if you are a UK dealer and can supply this - my email is [email protected] , - Im able to send you the configuration code asap - and pay the deposit within 24 hrs.

thanks
David

I believe that this government statement on the plug-in car grant will help to clarify the government's position on the C350e's eligibility for the incentive in various specifications for anyone with outstanding questions and/or concerns;

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/take-up-of-plug-in-car-grant-continues-to-rise

In summary, all current C350e vehicles in any configuration 'will continue to be eligible for the full grant of up to £5000, until either 50,000 grants are issued or 2017, whichever is first'. The government's commitment to 50,000 grants was issued in April 2013 and reaffirmed in April 2014 and February 2015.

The scheme is currently under consideration and review. One change that has been announced is the introduction of three categories under which each vehicle's eligibility for any future plug-in car grant programme will be assessed and potentially on the basis of which the magnitude of the incentive will determined. As I understand it, the current C350e will qualify under category 2 in saloon and estate form in configurations with 17" wheels or smaller. No current C350e meets the requirements of category 1 or category 3.

I am about to give up on this whole pluig in hybrid fiasco as spent the day visiting audi/merc/vw about their respective electric vehicles and was told by all of them that any new orders will now be built in 2016. What a shambles and looks like I will have to settle for the diesel jag XE instead.

I Will revisit the whole electric vehicle option in a couple of years when the manufacturers have got their act together.

To be fair, all 3 dealers said that I should place an order regardless and get my leasing company to see if they can locate any unsold stock. May give that a try.

I have a C350e on order, allegedly for delivery 1st Sept - I'll believe it when I see it. I think next year the biggest competitor to the C350e will be BMW 3 Series Plug In - perhaps you could think about joining the queue for that !

BMW 3-series plug-in prototype (2016) review by CAR Magazine

Actually I am know considering the Tesla as its actually not that expensive as a company car (for me) and they are building for Nov delivery. Got a test drive this weekend so see how it goes before I crunch the numbers and see.

Ordered through Inchcape (company car) mid June, just had Daimler London email to confirm the spec and they advised Feb 2016 for delivery.

Continue to be told estimated delivery is Mid December.

Originally I was told 8th August for delivery but that moved to "late September or early October" a few weeks ago and now I'm too frightened to ask for an update!

Not a good situation really.

Ordered March. Told Aug, then Sept, now Mid December.

Car is price locked so wont change.. but if I ordered it again today it would cost £6000 more over the term of the lease.

I am really in 2 minds to cancel now.. the longer the time goes on, the more it costs me in the final year of the lease in BIK which makes it less of a good "deal".

I am going to spend time this weekend pricing up other cars.

I'm really torn as well, problem is that no one else is offering as complete a package as the C350e at the minute, suspect that will change with the new A4 and new engines for the 3 series.

I don't want to go down the Mitsubishi PHEV route as it is as slow as a three legged donkey and think the Golf GTE too small, the Passat would be another matter.

I am tempted to the dark side with a 330d which would be nicer to drive with huge performance but that would cost me over £200 a month extra in terms of BiK taxation.

Besides I've test driven a diesel C Class and it was really nice.

If there was a definite alternative then yes I'd look but unfortunately I can't see anything and I suppose that's why MB probably have a hugely burgeoning order book and they can delay all they like.

Exactly the same as me.

I have done the maths today and recomparing the c350e to other cars the C350 still works out cheaper in terms of overall cost of the likes of a Passat GT, Skoda Octy Estate vRS, 3 series, A4 etc...

So.. yes its still a good price for a lot more car.

If i was to change, i would go estate for max space over car i think... its just crap its such a slow lead time !

I see delivery issues on C350e are common all over.. I ordered mine in Norway in April and got a production slot in July. Later changed to september, and was told Thursday that it was now in line for late October production, and that I was one of the lucky ones that would get it this year. Apparently the big issue is delivery of batteries...
I have A fancy for white cars and got mine with the white metallic, 19' multispoke alu's sunroof (that really gives A nice contrast to the white) and AMG interrior. Would really like the AMG exterrior also, but not available due to rear spoiler not compatible with the charger outlet.

Been questioning my decision to get a c250 over a 350 ever since I placed my order. But reading this thread brings me back in to check and me thinking I made the right choice.

Thing is.. the car should be awesome when it finally arrives... its just when!

Right.. as my cars delayed till Dec, been doing the man maths for something else in the event the BIK in the last year pushes the price up too much..

As it stands, spec for spec nothing comes close the the savings, its still works out cheaper than a A4, 3er, Passat, Skoda Vrs Octy with most options ticked (all estate models)

So.. think i will stick with it for the moment, if it gets pushed back again may re think.

The new 2016 Outlander works out cheaper and in fairness the external looks nicer than the current model, shame its pig slow, naff inside and lacks a decent media unit
