C350e anyone considering one?

:devil::devil: Hi all. I have been avidly watching and waiting with the forum since mid april when i ordered my C350e prem plus in polar white with bigger alloys, posh upgraded lights and the rear tint. NHS fleet have provided an estimate of end Nov 15 which is in-line with the 7 month original estimate. Really excited about getting it and now some people are starting to recieve theirs in the UK even more so. Really informative and interesting views and opinions. Keep it up guys and more pictures of real customer cars would be great as would be information about real and UK based reviews would be great too as they all seem to of been continental based this far.

Welcome and congratulations on choosing an 350e, mine is Brilliant Blue and due in October.
If the NHS would stop buying them I might have got mine sooner :D
So many NHS staff choosing them, well prescribed I would say.

Interesting position and comment by dealer. I have a 350e on order and I understood from the dealer that the critical moment is the "Freeze Point".
I was able to make changes recently and have received confirmation of the change. In addition I was provided with this information from the system. :

Option Freeze Date

:*24.08.2015

Baumuster Freeze Date

:*25.06.2015

Requested Production Date

:*11.09.2015

Expected Delivery Date 2

:*01.10.2015

Expected Delivery Date at Port

:*24.09.2015

Don't know if the above is a move movable feast, just keep fingers crossed :)

Just received and email from my dealer with an update showing it's still on schedule (fingers crossed!)

Just noticed the dates @quonker of the estimated delivery dates of our cars, seem I am ahead by half a length :)

:ttiuwp:ttiuwp:ttiuwp;)I had been looking at PHEV's for some time since my current NHS fleet Golf GTD is coming to an end October this year. None of them particularly grabbed me emotionally like a car should. I test drove a Outlander but wasn't at all impressed as it reminded me of a milk float. The Mercedes though has Mercedes DNA through and through and even though i have not test drove I expect it be great. Like a mini S class with great lines and by all accounts one the best interiors in its class. To top all of this off the pricess were barely believable at only £40 more than my GTD. Hoping to fully utilise PHEV compatibility as work is 10 miles away and they have 4 plug in charging points and then I can pop home and as I have drive and garage can charge at home. Opted for 4m public charge cable and 8m home as plug in point in garage is at back and I'm hoping can charge from there to just out in front on drive. Points I'm looking forward to... Obviously tech available, Burmester stereo, electric and heat seats for the winter.

Apologies went overboard with animation. Clearly excited muchly.

Look forward to seeing your real world MPG numbers, in theory the same as mine.
I don't anticipate long journeys, mostly less than yours. But and it is a very big but that 0-60 number of less than six seconds, boy racers at the lights and the sheer joy of all that torque :D

Sorry mine is coming from NHS fleet too ,,,can some one that's ordered theres from NHS fleet tell me how long the order took to go thought from when they send paper work back please

Hi guys,

Sorry been away for work mainly this week so haven't had a chance to update.

Firstly the question of real world mpg is a difficult one. In my experience so far he longest journey I undertook was around 50 miles wth a full charge. The electric range will obviously differ depending on the type of journey u undertake but mine was around 3 mile urban and then a further 11 miles of sensible motorway driving. At the end of the journey I had averaged approx 57mpg. However as I said this is very dependent on ur style of driving and what u have on in the car. At times I can see the electric range drop drastically when I have the ac on etc.
In regards to my purchase, it was a private purchase with a Mercedes dealership on a lease deal and hence maybe why I got lucky to get one so early. As such I'm wasn't too bothered by the company car tax benefits but was more interested in the tech and saving I would make over the diesel. In my opinion for those buying car as a company car expect to average out around 40-45 mpg across a journey of around 100 miles or so. I would also highly recommend a home charging wall point for those that have the option as thus makes it really simple to plug in and charge and that way u will get the maximum benefit of the hybrid system. As for the connect me services I don't believe this has anything to do with if it's a lease deal or not, just that Mercedes need to configure it for u. (Still waiting for mine). I haven't come across anything in the car that will allow u to charge at specific time (for instance after midnight for those with economy 7 meters ) but u do have the function to set the AC/Heat using a predefined departure time or using the key. I am waiting for connect me to discover the online app that allows u to control via a smart device!! Also someone asked about the prebrake and self stopping to avoid collisions which I'm sure works but I'm not brave enough to try!!!:-) I have seen the warning message appear when it thinks ur too close but other than that I'm happier using the brake myself!!! Still very happy with everything in the car. Only slight niggle I have is the hold function when stationery (bit like a hand brake) can be a little tempromental. Other than that it's a lovely car!!
hi did up grade the headlights to intelligent LED ? If so how have you found them eg not having to turn off hi beam ?

You are forgiven for buying what must be one of the best cars around, if I was with NHS I am sure I would do the same as you and what seems to me ,Hundreds of your colleagues :D

It might be the downside for you and your pals is the waiting time. I can't think that fleet purchase, at big discounts, will get the same priority as orders at full retail.

Hence the 10 month wait

10 month wait ! Doesn't a delay of that time put the government grant at risk or is that not something the NHS has to worry about ?

I'm also a fleet driver (but not NHS) I managed to find out via GE leasing who the supplying dealer is and I've been able to track down my fleet manager's contact there. She is happy to talk with me about my car and has confirmed my build slot.....hence once ordered I believe a fleet order will be treated exactly the same as a private one.

I work for a large company with a large fleet. I know that my fleet manager decided which dealer is to supply my car (GE told me this)....if his contact at the dealer then starts pulling cars (eg selling the slots to private buyers and bumping me to the back of the waiting list) then he will lose faith in that dealer and start taking the company's business elsewhere....that could be 100+ Mercs/year.
