C55 front bumper caught on kerb :(

I do, but 5 years of having to tell them about it and them adding hundreds to the premium as a result, despite "keeping" my no claims ...

It can be repaired as I said and looks like from your pics it has been before hand

I glued a couple of chunks of paint back on so it didn't look quite so obvious! Or were you looking at paint depth indicating filler?

repair would probably be OK, bearing in mind the relatively light damage in a relatively obscure area of the bumper.

make sure you use a repairer which uses the Mercedes "paint system" -- it's Glasurit, I think. This ensures that the paint matches perfectly. When my bumper was first repaired (and when I knew nothing about paint systems), the colour match was terrible.

Looks like CLK Clive has already offered and he is as decent as they come.

LOL .. only just put 2 & 2 together in that he is one and the same as the place he suggested! Sorry Clive .. brain not in gear today ;)

Have sent you an email anyway :thumb:

Whats a 'paint system'? I got a Mercedes sport pack sprayed by a local indi. It was an almost perfect match, now considering the car is 6 years old I think thats a pretty good effort.

I keep catching mine, though only scratches so far.

I park up and the airmatic settles just a bit, but enough to let the bumper catch the kerb as I reverse .

I should not have had it lowered by STAR.
