Won't be happening this year as there's just no money in the pot for new rubber, let alone wheels to go with them! However I'm interested in what the accepted norm is for a car that appears to use a rear tyre size that doesn't exist in winter rubber.

Does one go for smaller rims? If so, are there insurance implications? What if MB recommend something, would that still possibly be declarable to insurance?

Rears are 3/4 gone now, so anticipating a rather twitchy winter since wet roads are already "interesting" ...!

Your handbook will recommend you use the same width rear tyre as the front. When I called my insurance company they weren't interested.

Must check .. I seemed to remember it not being completely clear! Wet roads with leaves on today giving a taste of what frosty roads will be like!! :)
