C63 507 Edition Wide arch project

Lee, at the risk of being shot down in flames, come cross to the AMG Private Lounge and sign up for our Peak District meet on April 26. We have to see that car.
I'm really looking forward to going to some meets, but that one will be out ad the car is being ceramic coated that week so may not have it back
.. If i do get it back then I will try and get up.

Are coming to Olly's BOTG in May ?
possibly , I've not looked into that meet yet as i didn't know fir sure if it would be ready. Will look into the dates asap

It will be worth every penny wish I had the cash and guts to do something like that, just stunning. Love the colour!

Been up since 3am due to the excitement, can't wait see this finally finished, only slight downside is that the decals have had to be postponed for 2 weeks due paint curing, as the ceramic clearcoat takes a little longer to cure than normal.

Thanks again for all the comments, I'll be back soon with some shiny pics

Ah, yes you noticed that then... it is only very slight, but I feel it blends in better with all the other contrasting colours. Its not for everyone I know, and tbh I wasn't actually going to do it until the garage suggested it.

I like the effect, it's subtle. Did you get the car home yet or have you spent the day terrorising Kent and Sussex?

OK so here goes.

Collection went as planned, although the weather was not on my side, I was still extremely excited and yet a little nervous to see the car finished, we pulled into the carpark and BOOM!!! there she was, sitting in the brief sunlight and the paintwork glistening with gold flake.
This is the first time I have actually seen the car out in the sun, its only now that I realised just how imposing she looks, the bodywork is absolutely flawless, the extra wide stance of the car combined with the colours really compliment each other in more ways than I thought, the 3 stage pearl makes light bounce off the curves and new body lines.

Now my wallet has been through battle its time for the long drive home, Long in the sense that the M23 was closed so I had to detour via A/B roads. As soon as I pulled away I noticed an immediate difference in the way the car feels, the ride is amazingly smooth and far less crashy than with the stock wheels, this may be due to extra height on the sidewalls combined with 4 inches of extra rubber on the rear, she also turns into the corners much faster with less body roll yet still far smoother than before... I'm so glad I decided to cancel the coilovers as I feel it would have been a waste of cash.. time will tell on that front once I've got used to the way she drives now, but atm I'm very impressed with the way the car sits and drives.

The roads were extremely damp and greasy with puddles washing across the roads like rivers, Powering out of the corners was extremely satisfying, She now feels really sure footed with loads of grip, Into the corners was my first surprise, out of the corners is even more impressive.. it just grips and goes..

Now with any full project where the car has been completely stripped you would expect the odd rattle when put back together?.... Not in this case, the cabin is whisper quiet. road noise has been reduced and there was not a rattle or squeak for 60 miles of typical British roads.

The guys at Golding Barn garage have done an outstanding job with this car... the whole project has been done by hand from start to finish and they have exceeded all my expectations... Thank you Golding Barn Garage for the amazing job you have done and attention to detail in every aspect of this project.

I still have some bits to do to the car, the 507 decals will be fitted in a few months when the Ceramic clearcoat has fully cured, then it will be Ceramic coated to help maintain that Truly amazing paintwork.

Thank you for all the comments and feedback, I've really enjoyed sharing this project with you all, I look forward to meeting you all some car shows and meets in the future.

Sorry about the poor picture quality taken from my Brick of a phone, these pics do not do the car any justice at all, The garage have taken some better Pics of the car and will share those when they send them over...

I have good eyes !

What product is it ?

it looks stunning. I really like that you’ve left some chrome trim, it makes it look much more jewel like

Looks stunning, Lee, just gonna add my opinion and it's only my opinion, everybody's different, would look much better with Silver alloys. :) But as I've said, Lee
It stunning!!! :D

The paint job is excellent, having seen it myself in person twice.

You seem to contradict yourself a few times in this build by mentioning you want to keep it as oem as possible, but why the tinted rear lights?

Also, regarding coilovers, perfectly set up in a car like this is NEVER a waste of money. Depends on how granny you take corners or hoon it, the wider rear tyres will definitely make a difference. Take it to the limit and still, good coilovers will trump oem suspension.

Enjoy driving the car. Try not to get stone chips on those paintwork. Keep to the 60mph limit. ;)
