C63 507 Edition Wide arch project

Lee, you really should share some pix with the world wide community on the Private Lounge. They'd be licking their laptop screens at the sight of The Jolly Green Giant.

Hey Teego…. I need to get it Finished with the side decals fitted next weekend, I'll post up a little build thread etc.. although I think that most people on that forum have probably seen on here anyway??

Don't think may Yanks, Aussies and South Americans visit us here. Test the water with a few pix.

Certainly stands out, but looks well - congratulations.
Presume this all has a fairly big impact on your car insurance premium?

Thanks Shaun, I've not really had much chance to do anymore to the car until today as I'm now forced into lockdown. So Now the full detailing has started... I've got at least 2 weeks off so this is getting the works....
Full Engine detail
Full interior leather detox and protect
Machine polish the piano black trims and protect
Wheels off detail to the arches, suspension and protection followed by a Ceramic coat on brake disc hubs and calipers.
Wheels have already been Coated
Full detox clean to the glass with followed by a glass coating.
The only thing I cant do it do a ceramic coat on the paint as its only a few weeks since painted.

Here are some shots of the engine bay detail today.

You should get sponsorship from detailing products suppliers to help defray your costs.
Wouldn't that be nice.... I'm actually seriously considering doing a full course in detailing, I own and run a Carpet and upholstery cleaning company so I find detailing cars really simple..
I recently started machine polishing/paint correction and found that a breeze too, here are some shots of my 3 year old work van that I did a paint correction on earlier this week

Excellent

Hi Lee, the engine bay is stunning. what did you use for the quality finish.

its quite a simple process matey.

1, before rinsing down with water use a vacuum to remove any light debris other wise it will emulsify in the hard to reach areas when wet.
2, after a vacuum, cover the alternator with plastic, and put some old cloths inside the air intake.
3. Rinse down with a hose.
4. I then use Koch chemi greenstar APC, diluted at 100ml to 900ml of water, spray over the entire surface.
5. Agitate the areas with a detailing brush,I use my EZ detail wheel brushes for the hard to reach areas.
6.rinse the entire area down with a hose, use a lower to remove water from hard to reach areas and some cheap microfiber to dry the other areas.
7. Inspect the work once dry to make sure you've not missed any bits., if you have repeat the process again.
8. I use carpro pearl diluted 1/1 for all the rubbers and diluted 1/3 for plastics, lightly mist the product over all the surfaces and use a lower to push it into all the areas that you can't reach and microfiber for everything else.
9. Use a heat gun to dry the product on the rubber trims and plastic to give you a uniform finish.
10. Grab your favourite beverage, sit back and admire.

me again... Yup again

Here are some shots I took today of the car/engine bay colour combo... so you can see that I took the exterior colours and used them in contrast for the engine bay.. although the pics don't really do it justice.

So Today was the full interior detail.
To start off the car had a good vacuum out before doing anything, then first up on the list was to mask up around the black piano trim so I could polish it to remove the very fine marring.

Next up, I cut some sponge from one of my medium grade polishing pads to apply the polish. and my chosen polish was Flex Micro Cut/ anti hologram polish, I chose this rather than a glaze like AutoGlym SRP as I wanted a permanent fix.
thumbnail_WP_20200328_10_14_09_Pro.jpg

next up applied the polish, I had to do each panel twice to get a good enough finish that I was happy with, then remove all the tape, and wipe down with some Carpro Eraser. before applying some Gyeon Cancoat for some protection.

Now done with the Piano trims, gave the interior a good vacuum again to remove any dust from the polishing stage and then cleaned the leather with a ColourLock Cleaner, then applied some ColourLock Leather protector to finish. then 1 last vac out before wiping down the plastics with some Citrus APC and then applied some Carpro Pearl at 1/5 for a final finish.

Thanks again for all the interest in this project guys.

Just listening to Grateful Dead playing Washed My Hands in Muddy Water. Some chords and riffs are so cool they squeeze your eyeballs. Your interior detailing pix did the same. You'll need a negative pressure air lock to enter and leave your cockpit.

Fantastic, Lee, keep the pics coming. :)
P.S.
Like the colour coded, Air freshener. :D

Fantastic
