C63 507 Edition Wide arch project

Today was Wheel Arch day.....

not too many shots of the cleaned liners as the pics didn't come out very well due to the sunlight... However, after a good clean down and some protection, fitted some stone deflector guards, I know these aren't to everyone's taste but TBH, they are quite subtle and blend into the car quite well.

Like them as, you say nice and subtle. :)

Why have you got the spring and pins out of the brake caliper....cleaning behind there too ? ;) :)
yes buddy, I took them out to fully clean the calipers inside and out, then cleaned the pins and spring plates and coated it all with KKD R Evolve

Hi Lee
Liking the mini guards just what’s needed to protect the sides at high speed are these merc parts ?
I’d like to fit them to my car also .

Mercedes Benz Arch/Stone/Mud Guards Black *FRONT* ABS A45 AMG A Class *NO LOGO* | eBay

here you go buddy, they are designed to fit the A Class, but retro fit very easy, they come with a captive fitting kit, all you need to do is drill 2 holes with a 9mm bit, pop the captive nut in then screw into them.

Hi Lee,

Sorry if you've answered this question already i wondered if you were going to PPF any parts of the car now you've repainted it?

Shame about the current situation i'm sure a lot of people would love to see this weapon in person!

hey buddy, yes, the plan is to have PPF to the lower sections , rear arches, pillars and bumper then a modesta coating. But no idea when this is going to happen.

in the meantime the car is locked up so it doesn't get covered in bird bombs and building dust from my neighbour.

Hey Guys Hope you are all enjoying the good weather....

Another update on the car.. I have finally had the Custom Cut 507 decals fitted.

These are an exact replica of the original decal, although on mine they are 30mm longer to allow for the extra arch profile. we used a set of OEM decals as the template and cut them In OEM Grade Mactac Pro 900. They are the exact same colour as OEM but in a satin finish. This is because the textured finish is not available from Mactac as its only available from Mercedes.

Next week the car goes on for some Custom Cut PPF to fitted to the lower parts of the car and the rear quarters to help prevent chipping and then a Modesta Ceramic Coating... Finally its all coming together now.

Lee. Your car is looking very nice, the stripes definitely add a finishing touch. Are you planning anything with/for the wheel centre caps 🤔

Thanks Andy, Really appreciate that.
As for the wheel centre caps, yes, The standard OEM caps don't fit as they are too big, so I've been on the hunt to try and find a set that will fit, but haven't found anything yet.. other than a stickers and they looked terrible.. so the hunt continues..

Lee. With the money you’ve spent on creating your car have you considered having someone who does custom airbrush work painting them ? As you say , stickers won’t cut it. When you see the quality of airbrush work on bikes, scooters etc a Mercedes 3 pointed star should be an easy job for some of those guys. That would be an option I’d be looking at 👍

TBH buddy I hand thought of that, the problem with the Works centre caps is that the logo on them is engraved into the chrome, so they would have to be filled and then repainted... although as you say this should be easy for a pro to sort, so I may have to order a another set of caps and get them sent off to someone.. just need to find a reputable guy to do it but ideally I would like the Emobossed finish like OEM

I’m sure you will come up with a solution which does justice to the car 👍

That I can assure you.. I WILL!! its taken a shed load of effort and time to get this far, so won't fall at the last hurdle and compromise the quality.

Did you make any progress with the OEM refurbish on the black 507 alloys 🤔

the wheels are at the refurb co' and have been acid dipped rather than blasted. once they are back then I should have them back in the next week or so.. its just taken more time than usual due to COVID restrictions., once I have seen them finished I may ask them about doing my wheel centre caps
