Beautiful car and love the level of detail you have gone into!

On a side note, I vote to have the stock finish on the rear lights, I feel the tint cheapens the overall quality that's gone into the rest of the car.
Thanks buddy.. Tbh, the rear tinted lights were a last minute decision made in haste via a phone call from the body shop, I needed to decided straight away
I'm still on the fence about them tbh and may well consider changing them back..
Atm I'm working on the suspension system and other bits so I've not given it much more thought

I may look to see if anyone fancies swapping.
Depending on the light they aren't that dark tbh

Those taillights are fine. Not chavvy.
BTW your tips are scruffy.
Haha.. got me there buddy, I didn't actually wash the car before the pics were taken as Golding barn had the car for the fuelfest.. the week prior, when I got there they had already done the pics.. without it being washed .

Now I must say at first I thought glow-in-the-dark green would not work, but.... this looks totally awesome!
The bike looks great too and can see the 110% attention to detail on both of them 👍

Hey guys another little update
I've fitted the carbon weave 507 decals now, personally I think they look better, as they are a very deep satin anthracite carbon and blend in really well

As for coilovers, steady progress is being made, the car is now going off to GD Motorsport for some geometry measurements, compression ratio testing, and various other details that are needed to get the coilovers perfectly built for the car.

Optical illusion probably, but in the first pic the gap of the thin strip looks higher at the end than the beginning

Yes you are correct

The top part of the thin stripe is actually cut so that it is slightly tapered to reflect the opposite end of the decal from the front of the car
Its starts of at about 3mm wide and tapered to around 8mm at the rear. Then tapers back down from 8mm to 3mm on the rear bumper.

Gonna leave these on for a couple of weeks as although they are fantastic quality I'm now debating about putting Black ones on instead.
🤔

Hey guys, most if you know that I had my new wheels powder coated by Powder coating Express in sittingbourne as the arrived in the wrong finish, well some months later the powder coating reacted with the ceramic coating I applied. So I polished it off then had them done professionally, well they reacted again!!, so we put this down to a poor quality powder coat. I've now had them Blasted back to alloy and re painted in satin black with a Modesta wheel coating.. Now they look really sharp and the profiles of the wheel are more defined..

As for the Ohlins, we are still waiting on some final measurements from Ohlins for the exact damper lenght, but we have done quite a bit of work so far, so now it all comes down to how fast we can get the remaining parts from Ohlins due to the latest lockdown.

Thanks again for all the input and interest guys, it's been almost a year now since this project started, but as everything is custom made its taken a little longer than I thought.
Catch you soon.

This project has been epic, Lee, but absolutely well worth it!!
It's stunning!! :cool::)👍

Thanks buddy, as I've said, I really appreciate all the feedback on this, its helped in many ways to get the outcome I wanted.. I've made some bad decisions along the way and had to double back to do them again, and it's been extremely frustrating at times. But I really feel like the the project on a whole has been worth it all.

The only remaining item now is the Ohlins Coilover, despite me being the Guinea pig and getting a discount it's actually cost a considerable amount of money, more than double what a set of KW would have cost. But that's due to all the work that been needed to get every detail of this kit perfect.

Yes Boon, partly due to having to take the car to a chassis, suspension specialist so they could measure the suspension travel, without the weight of the car, drop travel, clearance inside the wheel arches when suspension is fully compressed and so on, I've also bought brand new top mounts front and rear and some other key parts that are needed to ensure the new Ohlins dampers work with oem parts.

There is a loads more stuff that also being done too,
Articulating rear spring platform is also another new part of the suspension that is being worked on to further improve the way the car responds at the rear.

that's a fantastic outcome and well done.

stunning car and totally unique

enjoyed the read about the journey too.

What makes the Ohlins twice the price of KW Coilovers?

Thanks matey, there will be more to come, it's just very slow going atm

Buddy, loads, Ohlins are more than Just a Brand name, one of the big factors here Are that these are fully serviceable, unlike most, where once they have gone, you have to throw them away.., the hi and low speed compression damping, strut design, I really could go on for an age, but I'm not allowed to say too much about it all yet until they are ready for production, then I can do a full right up about them in full.

I'm not saying in anyway that Kw are poor quality, I just got tired of the poor customer service from and while working on a custom project, why not go the whole way with custom built Coilovers??

Sorry the thread hasn't been updated for a while, it's been slow going on the Coilovers

I've also had some major services done to the car including new injectors, mainly for piece of mind that they don't fail and kill my engine.

As for coilovers.. its taken some time with Ohlins to get all the parts we needed, and Covid restrictions have slowed this considerably due to lack of staff, loads of testing, geometry measurements, spring rates, also had to have some custom machined top mounts, and new rear top mounts.
All the parts are finally here, they are being dyno'd as we speak to get the valve adjustment ratio spot on.
All being well I should have them in the next month.

Also now having a custom made badge that sits alongside the /////AMG.
had some massive fails, so went back to drawing board with a fellow forum member.

Here's the latest designs.

I like the last one. It has more slant in the font which fits in better with the AMG
