i was wondering how many of you use your c63 amgs for all season driving

ive just received my collection date in december and i dont think i could wait till the weather gets better to drive it ...

if it snows ill walk to work (30miles) otherwise i would be using the car normally. would there be any problems

Lots of spinning rear wheels in the snow I would image!!

Even my measly 3.2 CLK will not take off at the slightest hint of snow.

Suggest some serious winter tyres and leaving something very heavy in the boot!!

Other than this I would think you would be fine.

Hi from experience the c63 is useless in snow.

Does putting something heavy in the boot actually work? Never tried it on previous RWD cars but always heard people say it. Must say I am not looking forward to winter after the stories of MB owners last year.

I very much doubt it will be any good in full snow!! My CLS was shocking last year, as was the CLK. But that was during the period of heavy snow only, the rest of the time it should be fine if you are sensible and keep the electronic aids on.

If it snows, walk........

A C63 and snow/ice is not a good combination. A set of winter tyres and narrower wheels will help but all that torque in a rwd car is not a recipe for restful motoring. Besides which there's always the chance someone else will slide into you. After spending all that money might be worth investing in a " banger" to tide you over till the winter's over. Don't know where you are located in the UK but the forecast for this winter is not looking good. see Spike's thread- http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/96705-hunt-winter-hack.html

A couple of people sat on my open boot lip and a couple more in the back was sufficient to get me moving when I got stuck on a snowy incline near my mum's house over Christmas.

Never did really find anything portable/heavy enough to keep in the boot though, although didn't really try too hard as I did not have the need to use the car much during that period.

This year could be interesting!!

Mine was terrible in the snow ....

Big fat tyres + V8 + Snow = misery.

I hope your boss appreciates your dedication and commitment as you arrive at work after your 30 mile walk through the snow !

That's why I kept my 1999 W202,C240. Goes just fine in the snow ;-).

And well expensive!
