C63 Amg Disks & Pads Prices & Fitting

What price have you guys paid for standard disks and pads with sensors?

I thought the normal ones from merc (with no slats in the hub or the floating disk were loads cheaper)

Merc want £385 for front disks and pads with sensor & £695.84 for rear disks and pads with sensor.

The price of them rears has shocked me being smaller than the fronts.

And price for fitting?

I am sure ive seen people get these fitted for about £1000 but not the parts alone!

To give you comparison a full set of discs and pads on an RS4 are circa £2500.

AMG are quite reasonable.

From MB recently, C63 front discs, pads & sensor - £306.

Anyone had to replace the front discs on a performance pack model? Merc are asking for £1700... Seems a bit high!

Get a quote from MB Grangemouth, Newcastle or Southend. All will beat £1700 by a big margin.

Got mine from southend in the end as they were cheapest, they are getting fitted now with the calipers getting painted pearl yellow at the same time.

Yeah, that's a pretty standard price for PP discs and pads currently. PPP discs however are still in 4 figures alone.

What's the difference between the PP discs and the PPP discs???

The PPP cars have compound composite front discs not sure if PP have the same though, I don't think so.

PPP are a one piece composite cast ali / steel disc. The PP discs are a steel rotor floating on a separate bell. Makes no odds to brake performance, only to the price and warranty.

Yes it does, the Pp discs dissipate heat faster amongst other benefits.

- Floating brake discs prevent warping.
- If the bell is made of aluminium, the discs weigh significantly less as well. In a 55 car there's about 4kg saving per corner in the front, 2kg in the rear.

Not necessarily S. Heat conductivity of aluminium is higher than that of steel however the contact patch of a multi piece disc is not the same as that of a solid cast disc. So for heat to dissipate faster, a) the bell has to be made out of aluminium and b) it has to be of a particular design.

Here are the examples of better and poorer disc design respectively to illustrate the point:

Are the disc size and fit the same of both the PP and PPP?

Yes, but the pads are different compounds.

Hi robin , where were these from. I've looked everywhere ??

Phil , can I ask who you got to paint your calipers.
